Flight
DC has a couple of airports, but Reagan is definitely the easiest for domestic travel and is a short car/ Metro ride into the city.
Flight
Dulles (IAD) is located about an hour outside of DC. While it is a little far, some flights in and out of IAD may be cheaper. Keep in mind that traveling from the airport might cost a little extra! We've used the Washington Flyer Silver Line Express Bus to take us to and from the airport to the nearest Metro station, Wiehle-Reston East. From there, you can take the silver line to all Metro lines in the Washington metro region. The shuttle cost is $5 per person- cash is easiest, but you can pay by credit card inside of the airport office. Super Shuttle is also a direct option!
Train
Taking the Metro is one of the easiest options to get from Reagan airport into DC/ northern Virginia, and to travel around the city as well!
Travel Note
While cabs are easily available at the airport and around DC, we recommend using Uber or Lyft when trying to get around the city (Metro is great too!) Cabs tend to over-charge for trips, whereas Uber and Lyft make it much simpler and more affordable! Please note, cell service can be spotty at the airport. So, if you decide you would like to take Uber or Lyft after you land, schedule the car to arrive while you're in the terminal before stepping outside.
Hotel
This hotel isn't far from any of the wedding events, and there's a Starbucks in the lobby :) It's a little fancier, but it's in a great location to walk to many restaurants, shops, the metro and historic sites.
Hotel
This hotel is connected to our apartment building, so it couldn't be closer!
Hotel
This hotel tends to have great deals! It's slightly north of all of the wedding event locations, but it's still within walking distance of many places, as well as the Mt. Vernon/Convention Center metro station.
