Travel Note

Early Travel Interest (Optional)

We are SO excited to celebrate with you in Ireland on May 8, 2027! This short form is purely for early planning purposes (hotels, transportation, and logistics). It is not an RSVP, and your response is not a commitment. We know plans may change, especially for international travel. Formal invitations and RSVP details will be sent closer to the wedding date. Love, Jordan & Peter <3

Flight

Dublin Airport (DUB)

Dublin Airport (DUB) is about a 1.5 hr drive from Birr, where the wedding venue and welcome reception are. Dublin has the most direct flights to U.S. airports. Most major airlines fly here, including Aer Lingus, American, Delta, and United. Dublin is also the largest city in Ireland, and we recommend spending time here.

Flight

Shannon Airport (SNN)

Shannon Airport (SNN) is slightly closer to Birr, about a 1 hr 20 min drive. This airport is on the West coast of Ireland, another beautiful place to explore. Most major airlines fly here, including Aer Lingus, Delta, and United.

We highly recommend renting a car while you’re in Ireland. It’s one of the best ways to see the country and really explore beyond the main cities. Some of Ireland’s most beautiful spots like their small towns, coastal drives, countryside views, and historic sites are much easier to reach with a car. Having your own wheels lets you travel at your own pace, make spontaneous stops, and explore like a local without worrying about train or bus schedules. A few things to keep in mind: in Ireland, people drive on the left side of the road. This is tricky at first, especially with roundabouts, narrow roads, and rural areas, but you will get used to it fairly quickly. We also suggest checking with your credit card company before you travel to see if your card offers international rental car insurance. Many credit cards do, but coverage varies. Rental car companies in Ireland often charge a pretty hefty daily fee for their insurance, so confirming your coverage ahead of time could save you a good amount of money. It is also important request a letter of coverage from your credit card to determine your benefit amount and check with the rental car company before renting. Renting a car definitely isn’t required, but we think it’s the easiest and most flexible way to experience Ireland and make the most of your trip.

Travel Note

Other Transportation

Other methods of transportation are also welcomed. Dublin has a great train/bus system that we have used around the city. It is possible to get to Birr from Dublin via train (1.75 hr) followed by bus (45 min). This is what Franklin Martone would do if he could lol. There are shuttles that can be coordinated with group sizes ranging from 2-50 people to Birr directly from Dublin airport. This is a great option for groups traveling together. Please reach out to Peter Martone for inquiries about the shuttles!
