At a 25-minute drive away, Tullamore Dew has its roots firmly in Offaly. The original Tullamore distillery opened its doors in 1829 in the heart of Tullamore town. The old bonded warehouse still sits majestically on the banks of the Grand Canal. After 60 years of waiting, in September 2014, Tullamore D.E.W. resumed production in its ancestral home. Visitors are able to enjoy whiskey and brand tours.
County Offaly is home to the 2019 Open champion, Shane Lowry. There are 5 wonderful golf courses for all levels. We highly recomend visitng the Guinness Storehouse at St. James Gate. It is a really cool experience to see the history of Guinness and try their beer right from the source. They have a rooftop bar with a 360-degree view of Dublin while you enjoy a cheeky pint.
A beautiful and historic campus to walk around in the heart of Dublin.
Along the Western coast, you will find the beautiful, 700 ft tall Cliffs of Moher stretching for miles. This is between the historic cities of Galway and Limerick.
Named the 3rd best garden in the world by National Geographic! We loved this place. They film many shows and movies here, including the newest season of Wednesday, Cocaine Bear (lol), The Count of Monte Cristo, Excalibur, Vikings, and more. There are also two great golf courses on site, along with a distillery.
We enjoyed the tour of the House of Waterford. You get to see how they fabricate the intricate crystals and trophies like the NCAA basketball championship, the Irish Open, the Players Championship, etc.
