In late August, the weather averages around 80°F (27°C). The evenings tend to cool down slightly. We recommend packing light clothing for the daytime (shorts, linen, etc.) and a light sweater or jacket for the evening.
Ikaria is super laid-back, so keep it casual! We'd recommend: Beach essentials: Swimsuits, sunscreen, and towels (it's a small island and sometimes hard to find sunscreen end of season) Casual clothes: Light and comfy outfits (shorts, linen sets, summer dresses, etc.) Walking sandals: You’ll want sandals that are easy to walk in. Light jacket or sweater: If you’re heading into the mountains (Christos) for dinner, it can get a bit cooler, so pack something to throw on.
There are two ports in Ikaria - Evdilos & Agios Kirikos - where you can catch a ferry to nearby islands, including: Mykonos (2 hours from Evdilos) Patmos (55 minutes from Agios Kirikos) Fournoi (35 minutes from Agios Kirikos) Syros (3 hours from Evdilos)
While we love your little ones, the reception will be adults-only so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. That said, we’ll have a dedicated room with childcare available at the venue for those who need it - just let us know in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
