Is the entire wedding at one venue?

Answer

Yes, the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and dinner will all be held at Sky Retreat, in Purlear, NC.

You may RSVP online or by mail - whatever you prefer! Online is likely quickest!

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will be held outdoors (weather permitting). The cocktail hour will be held on a covered porch. Dinner and the reception will be indoors, with the ability to go outdoors as you please.

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

The average high in Purlear, NC in August is 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees celcius) and the average low is 63 degrees Fahrenheit (17 degrees Celsius). Average humidity is 74%. We hope for clear skies & beautiful weather!

Of course. We welcome all guests to capture our special moment. We will have disposable cameras on the tables for your use. We do ask, however, to avoid taking pictures during the ceremony (unplugged ceremony)!

What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue(s)?

Answer

A vehicle will be necessary to get to and from the wedding venue, given that it is on top of a mountain. We encourage car-pooling to minimize the number of drivers.

Is there parking available near your wedding venue(s)?

Answer

Yes, there is parking onsite at the venue. There is an overflow parking lot that will require shuttling from, so please arrive early enough to allow time for this process.

What is the day of event schedule and when should guests arrive?

Answer

Please arrive at the venue between 4 and 4:30pm. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5:00pm. There will be a cocktail hour directly after the ceremony between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. Dinner will be served at 6:46pm. The reception and dancing will take place afterwards until midnight.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We will have an several meat dishes, with vegetables and sides available as well. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available. There will be food available during cocktail hour & a surprise late night food option will be as well.
