Lihue is the major airport on the island of Kauai. Flights from Minneapolis to Lihue are available, most of which include 1-2 layovers. You will want to allow 1 full day for travel. You may also want to consider flying directly into the Honolulu airport (on the island of Oahu). One-way and round-trip flights run throughout the day from Honolulu to Lihue, with a flight time of only ~35 minutes.
