Officiant
Emily and Pieta met while working together at Penguin. They immediately fell in love and Emily vowed to one day marry Pieta, and so here we are! Emily has been an incredible friend, confidant, wing woman, and extremely reluctant running buddy to Pieta for years, and has since become a close friend to Jon. They could not be more honored to have her officiating their day.
Master of Ceremonies
As the eldest sibling, Nige has been the master of ceremonies for the Pemberton family since he was able to talk. He has provided a lifetime of guidance, friendship, and shenanigans for Pieta, and she could not in her wildest dreams ask for a better big brother. Ask him about the time he thought Pieta was a fridge. Go on, ask him!!
Man of Honor
Jason, the youngest of the three Pemberton children, has been by Pieta's side since she was 22 months old. (Mostly because she refused to let him off his leash until well into adulthood, but that's neither here nor there.) J has provided a lifetime of love, entertainment, adventures, and complete stupidity, and Pieta couldn't ever dream of having a better support for this whole wedding thing.
Best Man
When Peter married his wife Sarah and honeymooned in New Zealand, it was only natural Jon planned a trip there at the same time. Peter and Jon bonded as Production Assistants over twelve years ago when they worked a bartending competition show together. Needless to say, since then they've shared many a late nights out having too many laughs.
Bridesmaid
If you ever look up and think that Pieta's twin sister is in the bridal party, you're probably looking at Bethany. Bethany (no relation; no, seriously, no relation) and Pieta met through their Team in Training running group five years ago, and they've been soul sisters ever since. They've braved marathons, snowstorms, concerts, and cross-country road trips together, and so long as Bethany doesn't force too many horror movies into the situation, they'll be great buds for a long time yet.
Groomsman
Daniel and Jon met as lifeguards during their freshman summer of college. When Jon decided to move to Brooklyn, Daniel agreed to go with him and help navigate the Big Apple without any hesitation. He's been there for Jon through thick and thin and is a true gem.
Bridesmaid
Kristy has the great pleasure (...?) of being married to Pieta's older brother. Having met when they were pre-teens, Kristy is the closest sister Pieta has, and the best sister-in-law she could ask for. Kristy was the first person to know when Jon proposed, and has been the strongest supporter of them since the start. (Just whatever you do, don't give her Absinthe.)
Groomsman
Jon's always looked up to Ryan, both because he is an Eagle Scout and he's 6'5". Jon and Ryan met in 2014 and quickly bonded over their love of the outdoors and all things camera. The sweetest giant you'll ever meet.
Bridesmaid
Alex and Pieta became friends their first year at university. Strict NDAs prevent them talking about most of their early years of friendship, but rest assured it was a whole lotta of fun. (They also might be on the run from Australian authorities for breaking onto the rooftop of the Q1 building, but it's fine, don't worry.) Now that they are adults, they basically sit around and talk about jobs and joint pain. Though Alex won't physically be there on the day, she will--as always--be by Pieta's side in spirit.
Groomsman
Jon's baby brother. If not for Forrest, Jon would've never started playing hockey. Forrest has inspired Jon through his many passions and his amazing love as a father of his two sons, Ira and Ashby. If you hear Mr. Squishy being called out, you know who to look for!
Bridesmaid
Danielle was one of Pieta's first friends in NYC. They first met through their Team in Training running group, and are thankfully still friends even though their running routine has been replaced with a cheese-and-wine routine. Danielle is Pieta's greatest source of advice in this crazy world, so we should all thank her that Pieta is getting married at all.
Groomsman
As Jon's older brother, Jamie can take credit for any good taste in music and horror movies Jon has. Jamie's warmth and humor has always been at the ready over the years. Even though he lives in LA now, Jamie was one of three reasons (the other two being Jon's sisters) why Jon moved to Brooklyn in the first place.
Bridesmaid
Kate and Pieta became friends at some point in their early 20s, though neither of them can be sure exactly when or how... They cemented their friendship while living and working in Wellington, where they spent every non-working moment gallivanting around the city and going to an absurd number of costume parties. Despite living on separate continents for more than a decade now, they remain closer than ever (in large part thanks to WhatsApp voice messages--the love letters of the modern age!).
