A lovely, quiet park in Greenpoint. If you like the McCarren park vibe but want LESS, this is it. The perfect place to meet your future spouse! Also, a good central point surrounded by a nice little smattering of Greenpoint amenities: cafés, restaurants, fancy and casual bars, a beautiful old church, quiet streets, and of course, our houses (in case you get lost!) There's a good dog run as well.
A great, casual bar where you can have a tasty bite, some tried-and-true cocktails (they don't skimp), or just sit outdoors and watch the diverse crowd that passes through this little artery. (This is where the Karen/Jon connection got its first little boost.)
Right off of the park, this is your cool-down spot or point of escape when your only need is to relax and shoot the breeze over a cold one.
A great place to get a light breakfast, head to the park, and get to know your girl (or guy). Mini health food groceries as well.
Our first date. Fancy French-style restaurant. You can get whatever you want! They even have cloth napkins!
The Big Park right in the middle of Williamsburg. If you like the McGolrick park vibe but want MORE, this is it. THE central point for the Williamsburg/greenpoint scene. Also a pretty well-outfitted workout area and running track.
Quaint little restaurant right off the park. Pretty sure Karen and I have put these folk's kids through college. Korean mega-hits like bibimbap, soondubu, home-made kimchee (of all sorts) and of course, Korean fried chicken.
The Perfect date night spot, for sure. Nice cocktails and warm vibes. Order a Phoenix Down (up) in honor of Karen and a King Cole for Jon.
If you know Karen Costa, and come to Greenpoint, and don't get dumplings from Hungry? ... then who are you, even?
Karen and Jon's oft-chosen date night haunt. There is something live, lively, and fun every single night. Music, comedy, open mics, trivia-nights, and of course, those cozy one-of-a-kind aesthetics and ultra-famous stage!
This is where many guests will be staying. Located at the north end of Brooklyn, it's a nice walk to and from the wedding venue, passing by many great places in Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Rooftop deck with a view of Manhattan.
a Very Romantic Italian eatery and wine bar near The Box House hotel. Tell Tomasso that we said hi!
Decent coffee, but more importantly, where we buy hipster hot chocolate for Henry and Quentin.
get the chicken tacos (sauce on the side) in Karen's honor, and the mushroom tacos (all the sauce, all the time) in Jon's honor. If they're all out of hot toddy glasses... we don't know anything about it.
The seat of Karen's psychotherapy empire. Come for the wedding; stay for the emotional healing. No, for real. Everybody needs a therapist ;)
Jon's fix-it shop. Swing by and feel your inner nerd push his glasses up his nose.
If you ride up and blow your head gasket, this is your spot.
One of the more newly-renovated parks. Clean and friendly, and gives you a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline and East River.
