Question

Ceremony and reception in the same place?

Answer

Yes, we are combining both the ceremony and reception into one big joyous occasion at MyMoon in Brooklyn.

Question

I'm coming from out of town and am not sure about getting around. What can I expect?

Answer

Uber, Lyft, bus and subway are a great way to get around NYC. All of these modes of transport run 24 hours a day. Since we'll be celebrating during a holiday, you should expect some delays, but in general, NYC doesn't slow down. If you travel by public transpo, now Apple Pay is accepted on trains and buses throughout NYC. Super convenient. (You can still buy a metro card at every station, if you want.) There are subway maps at each station, but google/apple maps will let you know which trains to take as well. If you're brand new to the city and feel a little uncomfortable with the thought of navigating around, don't fear: almost everything in your trip will be within walking distance, so you can take things at a nice, easy pace, and you will find NYC to be a pretty safe place. Pro tip: New Yorkers secretly pride themselves on their ability to give perfectly accurate directions to tourists. And of course: just text or call us, or your other favorite NY'er. We won't let you get lost!

Question

I am not from NYC. Are New Yorkers as crabby/rude/bossy/pushy as they say.

Answer

Yes. If you run into a stranger who is not crabby, rude, bossy, and/or pushy...they ain't from here. ;)

Question

I'm thinking of staying to watch the fireworks on the 4th. Any tips?

Answer

First of all, the Williamsburg and Greenpoint neighborhoods are amazing places to view the fireworks, which are generally shot off from the east river. The choice places, i.e. parks, rooftops, restaurants with river-views; fill up very quickly. Still, you can still find a place to view the 'works even if you show up late, just expect to do some walking. Pro tip: at the north end of Greenpoint there are a couple parks (transmitter park is a good one) that should give you a great view.

Question

I'm driving in. What about parking?

Answer

Some of the hotels we have listed on our website have parking garages. There are also some garages around town that charge a daily rate. Street parking? Maybe, but spots are tough to find even for locals; and because of the folks driving in to see the fireworks, there may be an additional squeeze. That being said, there are free and metered spots all around town. Just look around for the parking/no-parking signs--they are the best way to avoid any tickets.
