Come enjoy the city where it all started! MSP has much to offer for all interests: foodie, outdoorsy, artsy, music, shopping - or all of the above!
Music, food & breweries: you'll just have to google what you like because you'll find it here. The Paisley Park studio tour would take a little planning so let us know if you're thinking about that if you're not familiar with the city.
Outdoor fun: the Minneapolis city lakes are great for a walk or run, renting bikes / canoes / paddleboards, maybe hear a band and get some food at Lake Harriet, Calhoun or Nokomis. Jon raised his family in Minnetonka, a city with a robust trail system & a lot to see & do. Minnehaha Falls is a terrific place to explore, or just look up 'hikes or lakes near me' and you will find some.
Shopping: the Mall of America may have it all unless you like boutiques or designer finds, in which case we recommend 50th & France area, the Galleria or downtown Wayzata.
