FAQs

If you have questions other than what we listed below, please text or call Diana at 313-753-0200, or Jon at 512-550-0887.
Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

September weather in Austin is generally warm! Expect 80s, and humidity. I'd bring some layers, though- it could rain (who really knows..!)

Question

I want to go on a longer trip. What areas are cool?

Answer

Other than Austin itself, we also suggest checking out Johnson City, Fredericksburg, and San Antonio isn't far either! Wine country in Texas is gorgeous - there are a ton of wineries just 1-1.5 hours away from Austin. Signor Vineyards, Baron's Creek, Alexander Winery, Becker Vineyards, and many others line the highway (290) into Fredericksburg. You can't go wrong with any of them! Gruene, TX is also a cute town you can drive to for a day, as well as Wimberley (for true Texas feel). If you're spending more time in the Austin area, check out the "THINGS TO DO" page above.

Question

What areas are good for shopping?

Answer

South Congress in Austin! The Domain (on the suggestion list) is an actual mall, but it has a cool outdoor layout and an Austin feel with the different restaurants there. 2nd street in Austin has some shops (and a lot of restaurants)! It's the Market/Waller Creek District by the river if you look on Google maps.

Question

Other fun things?

Answer

You can rent kayaks and paddle down the river through downtown: https://www.rowingdock.com/rental-kayak/ The Barton Creek Greenbelt near Austin has some really nice nature and Hiking! The trailheads are all listed on Google Maps. Lake Travis and Lake Austin have great areas for swimming, boating, restaurants/bars on the water, etc. If you want a good marina restaurant, the Sundancer Grill (near our house in Lakeway!) is at the marina on the lake. The Ski shores Cafe (Pearce Rd location) is a pub-like place on the river near downtown, but if you want TexMex, check out the Hula Hut on the river in Austin as well. Lucy's Fried chicken is a famous Austin Staple, as well as Torchy's Tacos (there is one a couple mins from my house, as well as in downtown). Also check out the "THINGS TO DO" page above.
