Mackenzie and I met when I started school in Louisiana; she was intimidated by my quiet demeanor and I was intimidated by her height but, we found the sweetness in each other over time. Mackenzie is someone who loves deeply, loves unconditionally, loves wholeheartedly, and I'm so grateful that I've gotten to experience that love in our friendship. We've made friends together, we've lost friends together, we've laughed together, we've cried together. Being Mackenzie's friend means feeling all the emotions because of how much love she pours into her friendships. It's rare to meet someone that's willing to bare their heart in that way and I'll forever cherish Mackenzie for it. Mackenzie is my maid of honor because she's been with me through this season of life, from when I first started having feelings for Jon, to the proposal, she's been there for me as an unwavering pillar of support. I am so lucky that I get to have her next to me at the altar. Mackenzie, thank you; I love you.
Brett Beaman
Best Man
I first met Brett in elementary school around 16 years ago. I only just transferred to public school and was fortunate to meet someone equally passionate about similar interests to my own. Brett loved fantasy and horses and I loved fantasy as well but replaced the horses with dinosaurs. It still worked out. Even in school we shared so many experiences taking classes with each other, joining similar clubs, and always eating together at lunch. Our shared interest in music kept us together even after school hours where we’d laugh, talk about our aspirations, and focus on improving ourselves. It was impossible not to notice how inspired and inspiring Brett is as a person and a friend. His dedication to improving himself whether at school or at home allowed me to reflect on who I’d like to become. Even still our friendship continually strengthens and positively influence my own growth. Brett is a lifelong friend; as I grow older and open new chapters of my life it remains unmistakably clear that I want Brett by my side to celebrate the harmonies of love and unity on my wedding day.
