Note about Directions to Venue

It may be a good idea to print off Mapquest or Google Maps directions as an extra precaution. Our GPS worked out there, but some may not work due to poor reception. For your convenience, below are some directions that were provided on the venue's website. The official address of the venue is: 23164 Vess Rd, Glenmont, OH 44628. NOTE: CELL PHONE RECEPTION AT THE VENUE IS LIMITED. Verizon phones tend to work a little better, but phone reception is not guaranteed. Certain areas of the property have better reception than others. Grand Barn staff has a landline phone that could potentially be used in case of an emergency.

Limited On-Site Lodging: The Grand Barn at the Mohicans

There are a limited number of on-site lodging options at the venue. There is no discount available for guests with this lodging option, however the promo code allows us to ensure that the properties will be available for guests to book up until August 14, 2020. Reserving properties after that point may be possible, but it is not guaranteed to guests as it will then be open to the public. The promo code to reserve on-site options is "JokerstWelsh". Go to the Mohican Grand Barn website reservations page and click any "BOOK HERE" button. Guests should select their date of stay on the calendar (11/14/20). Now enter the PROMO code in the space below the "BOOK NOW" button. A 50% deposit is processed with the booking and the remaining balanced is processed 30 days prior to check-in. If cancelled 30 days prior to your arrival date, the deposit will be refunded minus a $30.00 cancellation fee. If cancelled less than 30 days in advance, the reservation is non-refundable.

Off-Site Lodging: The Mohican Lodge and Conference Center

We have a wedding block set up for this hotel option, that ensures a discounted rate for guests that is blocked off until Oct. 15, 2020. After that point, you can still reserve a room here but there is no longer guaranteed availability and guests will not be able to get the discounted rate after this point. There are various options available: Rooms with 1 King Bed at a discounted rate of $139.00, Rooms with 2 Queen Beds at a discounted rate of $119.00, Rooms with 2 Standard Beds at a discounted rate of $109.00, or a couple handicap-friendly, ADA rooms with a roll-in shower and 1 Queen Bed at a discounted rate of $109.00. This hotel is about 30 minutes away from the venue. In order to get the guest discount, you must CALL and ask for a room in the Jokerst Welsh wedding block. If you reserve online, you will not be able to get the discounted rate in the block. Your deposit is refundable up until 72 hours prior to arrival.

Off-Site Lodging: The Mohican Little Brown Inn

We set up a block at this motel that will ensure that some rooms are available for guests up until Nov. 1, 2020. This option may or may not be discounted for guests, but at least 12 rooms need to be booked total for the discounted option to be available. Regular rate is $64.00 per night for 2 people (Discount if available is $55.00 per night). It is $10.00 for extra people (4 people are allowed in each room). Children 12 yrs & under are FREE. The rooms are non-smoking and have 2 Double beds. In order to book a room, you have to CALL the motel and say that you want to book a room in the Jokerst Welsh wedding block. THIS IS THE ONLY HOTEL THAT'S BLOCKED FOR BOTH FRI. NOV. 13&SAT. NOV. 14. You also need to have your phone number and credit card number available when you call. If you book a room online, you will not be guaranteed a room in the block or the discount if it is available. They have a 48 hr cancellation policy.

For the more outdoorsy-type guests, there are also non-hotel options available such as staying at the Mohican State Park if you so choose! They have the option to reserve a campsite for camping, as well as cabin options. 100 electric sites 51 full hook-up sites 35 non-electric sites Showers, flush toilets, dump station and a campground store Registered campers may use the pool and splash pad located in the campground. Directions for Guests coming through Loudonville from the North on Rt. 3

Directions for Guests coming through Loudonville from the North on Rt. 3 Follow Wally Road south for approximately 8 miles from the intersection of State Route 3 and Wally Road in Loudonville. Turn right on Vess Road (also called Township Road 357 on some maps). You will see a sign for Tree Frog Canopy Tours and a little white 1800’s school house near the corner. The road splits shortly after you make that turn-Stay RIGHT!! (if you stay left you will be on Big Hill Road which is the wrong way). Continue on Vess Road for approximately .8 miles (it is up hill most of the way). Across from an open field and a green oil tank will be the driveway to The Mohicans/The Grand Barn on the right. "The Mohicans" sign is located at the entrance. Turn right into the drive and follow the drive through the woods to the parking lot.

Directions for Guests coming through Danville from the South on Rt. 514 State Route 514 brings you into the Mohican Valley area from the north or south through the small town of Greer, Ohio. Once in Greer, turn onto Wally Road (Wally Road dead ends into State Route 514) and travel 1.6 miles to Vess Road (also called Township Road 357 on some maps) which enters on your left.
