Question

ARE MASKS REQUIRED AT THE WEDDING?

Answer

Yes. Masks are required indoors, except when sitting to eat or drink. Outdoors and during the ceremony, masks are required whenever unable to maintain 6 foot distancing. As per the state order, all individuals in Ohio must wear facial coverings in public at all times when: "At an indoor location that is not a residence Outdoors, when unable to maintain six-foot social distance from people who are not household members Waiting for, riding, driving, or operating public transportation, such as a taxi, a car service, or a private car used for ride-sharing. The order only requires those 10 years old or older to wear a mask. Additional exclusions include: Those with a medical condition or a disability or those communicating with someone with a disability; Those who are actively exercising or playing sports; Those who are officiants at religious services; Those who are actively involved in public safety; or Those who are actively eating or drinking."

Question

WHERE CAN I TAKE A BREAK FROM WEARING MY MASK?

Answer

Masks are not required indoors when seated to eat or drink, so feel free to sit down for a minute to take a breather. If socially distancing properly (6 ft distance), masks are not required outdoors, so you can alternatively take a break outside while observing the property's breath-taking views.

Question

WHAT SAFETY MEASURES WILL THERE BE AT THE WEDDING VENUE REGARDING COVID-19?

Answer

As of now, 6 foot spacing is required between all tables, and masks are required under most circumstances. We will have masks available for guests to use, or you are welcome to bring your own. The Mohicans staff are required to wear masks at all times. Dancing is allowed in groups of less than 10. Social distancing is still required on dance floors and guests are still required to remain at their tables when eating and drinking. There will be increased cleaning throughout the event and social distancing signage will be posted for guests. Doors/windows will be open during events to enhance air circulation (fresh air reduces the spread of COVID-19). Ceiling/floor fans, and a/c units will be run as necessary within the open air environment. There are heaters available to ensure no one will be chilly. The Mohicans staff will be practicing 6' distancing during events. Hand sanitizing will be available throughout the venue.

Question

IS THERE TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM THE HOTELS TO THE WEDDING VENUE?

Answer

As of now: No, we apologize for any inconvenience. Originally we had a shuttle set-up to run to a few hotels, yet it is no longer available due to restrictions of COVID-19. Please plan accordingly and assign a designated driver within your group. Some Lyft, Uber, or taxi options may be available in the area, but please plan ahead as these options may be limited in this remote area (Example transportation services: https://uphail.com/us/oh/glenmont/). Please act responsibly and do not drink and drive. It is recommended to drive VERY SLOWLY on the path in and out of the Grand Barn as it is very narrow and curvy. Thank you for your understanding and please come back here for updates periodically leading up to the wedding. If you feel more comfortable, there is the option to stay on-site at The Grand Barn in their treehouses or cabins. Please book ahead of time; there are limited on-site properties available.

Question

WHO SHOULD I CALL IF I GET LOST ON THE DAY-OF?

Answer

Cell phone reception is not great at the venue, so we would suggest directly calling the Grand Barn landline at (740)-599-9030. Grand Barn staff can relay the message back to us or help you with finding the property.

Question

IS THERE CELL PHONE RECEPTION AT THE GRAND BARN?

Answer

Cell phone reception may be limited at the venue. Verizon and AT&T phones tend to work a little better, but phone reception is not guaranteed. Certain areas of the property have better reception than others. In case of an emergency, Grand Barn staff can be contacted through their landline: (740)-599-9030.

Question

CAN I BRING A GUEST?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Guest" or lists the name of your significant other, then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

ARE THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION AT THE SAME LOCATION?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony and reception are both at the same location. They are located at the Grand Barn at the Mohicans in Glenmont, OH (23164 Vess Rd, Glenmont, OH 44628). There are multiple entrances to enter the property so you will have several options to get to the main parking lot. Keep an eye out for the signs to know where to go. The ceremony will begin first, followed by a cocktail hour, leading into the reception.

Question

I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS, CAN I MAKE A SPECIAL REQUEST?

Answer

Yes, there will be a spot on your invitation to write those restrictions down (allergy, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.). We have a predetermined catered meal, but we will do our best to offer food options that accommodate everyone's dietary restrictions.

Question

WHAT ARE MY LODGING OPTIONS?

Answer

Hotel rooms are blocked for guests to purchase at the Mohican Lodge and at the Mohican Little Brown Inn. More information about potential room discounts is available on the "Travel" page of our wedding website. There is also the option for on-site lodging in a cabin or treehouse at the Grand Barn venue. Here is some safety information for those lodging on-site: Self check-in to properties means no staff interaction. There is no lobby, common area, or elevators. There is daily laundering of all linens, including bedding. CDC and WHO cleaning protocols are in place. There are additional lodging options nearby.

Question

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Answer

While it is specified what wedding party members will wear, there are no set guidelines for the attire of other wedding guests. Business casual or cocktail professional attire is recommended, however. Just a note, fall weddings can be a bit chilly. Although most of the event is indoors, it is suggested that ladies bring a shawl or jacket if they think they might be cold.

Question

IS THERE PARKING FOR THE CEREMONY OR RECEPTION?

Answer

Yes, there are plenty of parking spaces in the gravel lot next to the Grand Mohican Barn. Just a heads up that the driveway leading up to the property is a little hilly, curvy, and narrow, so be sure to take it slow when driving and look out for cars coming from the opposite direction. Be safe and do not drink and drive.

Question

WHAT DOES THE HASHTAG MEAN?

Answer

If you post photos from our wedding events on social media and if you type #welshareourlove on your post, then we can see those photos all in one place when we search that hashtag. You don't need to use it, but it's just a fun little way for us to share pictures and posts with each other.

Question

HOW DOES THE BAR WORK?

Answer

There is an open-bar that is provided to guests free-of-charge.

Question

IS THERE A SMOKING AREA AT THE VENUE?

Answer

Yes, guests are permitted to smoke in the designated smoking area on the property, which is the front courtyard. This is the area located in front of the Grand Barn near the parking lot.

Question

DO I NEED TO RSVP BOTH ONLINE AND THROUGH MAIL?

Answer

No, you are welcome to do so either through the online RSVP page or through mailing in your RSVP card. Although one or the other is fine, it does not matter if you happen to do both.
