Yosemite Valley is known for its iconic scenery, impressive sights such as Half Dome and El Capital. It also has a welcome center, food options, loads of activities such as bus tours, junior ranger talks/walks, art classes, and bicycle rentals. Some of our favorite hikes include Mirror Lake (easy), Lower Yosemite Falls (easy), Upper Yosemite Falls (difficult), Four Mile trail (difficult), Vernal and Nevada Falls (moderate to difficult), and Half Dome (very difficult; need a permit). Not to be forgotten are Tuolumne Meadows and Hetch Hetchy, less popular but still with stunning views. Amazing viewpoints in the park include Tunnel View and Glacier Point. Rush Creek Lodge / Groveland are near the Big Oak Flat Entrance. If driving into the park, you need a park pass AND a park reservation. There are also public transportation options: the YART has a stop at Rush Creek, and there are shuttles the run regularly in the valley. Helpful phone apps: - NPS (National Park Service) - AllTrails
