FAQs

The Wedding Website of Scott Johnston and Nicole Friel
Question

Should I plan to visit Yosemite National Park while I am there?

Answer

Absolutely! One of the reasons we chose such an incredible location for our wedding was to share our love of the outdoors with all of you. We hope everyone will take the chance to explore the Yosemite Valley, venture to Hetch Hetchy, and experience the beauty of the high Sierras. Whether you’re hiking, biking, joining a bus or photography tour, participating in kids’ art classes, birdwatching, or stargazing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Question

Do I need a reservation to get into Yosemite National Park?

Answer

No! In 2025, a reservation was required. It was recently announced that no reservations are required for 2026. While that takes away an extra step in the planning process, that also means that the park will be crowded on a June holiday weekend. In order to get a parking spot, plan to arrive early in the morning or arrive late in the afternoon when people are starting to go home!

Question

Is Rush Creek Lodge inside Yosemite National Park?

Answer

No. It is just outside the park at the northwest entrance. (Big Oak Flat Entrance.)

Question

What's the weather like in June?

Answer

June offers the most comfortable temperatures and best chances of blue skies with daytime highs average between 70°F and 80°F, and nighttime temps drop below 60°F. Yosemite receives 95 percent of its rainfall between October and May, making June one of its driest months. As such, you can expect sunny blue days that are perfect for photographing top attractions, like El Capitan and the ancient sequoia trees, in excellent light.

Question

What is the dress code for the Wedding Celebration?

Semi-formal attire.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Question

Question

Gift registry

Answer

Your presence is the best present we could ever ask for! We know your attendance is asking a lot of your time and your finances, so please spend your money on travel to enjoy the adventure and celebrate love, connection, and shared memories! We really want you to be with us on our special day. Therefore, no gifts please. For those who want to share a note of well wishes, a card box will be available.
