This is a must see! Red Rocks offers easy hiking, yoga classes, a museum of musical greats, and insane views. Rock nerds (and non-nerds!) will have their minds blown! Try to visit earlier in the day - sometimes parts of the venue close in the afternoon to prepare for an event.
If you drive around Capitol Hill, this building is impossible to miss! Modeled after the peaks of the Rockies and the rock crystals found on the front range, the architecture of this building is just one of many reasons why the Denver Art Museum is known worldwide.
The Georgetown Loop Railroad is 45 miles from Denver and is stunning! It's a great activity for kids (or adults who dig trains and views). If you're looking for that old-timey Colorado feel, you'd love this! It's nearby to the towns of Idaho Springs, Silverplume, and Georgetown - all smaller, quaint towns that are full of character and buried treasures (think; antique shops, small biz, bakeries, breweries, museums...)
Head to Boulder for the day and visit the Flat Irons! There are several hiking trails at Chautauqua for all experience levels. There is also a playground and picnic area. After hiking at Chautauqua, check out Pearl Street for shopping and food!
You're in John and Meg's neighborhood! Some of their favorite spots: Jax, Leaf (vegan/veg), Chimera, Boxcar Coffee, and just popping in an out of the small businesses along this pedestrian mall. You'll find unique shops that are very "Boulder," along with street performers and art shows. There's always something happening on Pearl Street.
The only bagels worth eating in Colorado. Growing up in NY, Meg is a self-admitted bagel snob and Rosenberg bagels are amazing. Our personal favorite bagel: Everything with hatch green chili cream cheese with egg and cheese.
