The Hotel Saranac is located in the heart of Saranac Lake and is walking distance from many great bars and restaurants. Keene Valley is our favorite town and offers great access to all the outdoor adventures the north country has to offer. If you're trying to climb a few 46ers this weekend, the Keene Valley Lodge would be an ideal home base. Please note that it is ~40 minutes from the reception location, but only 5 from the ceremony!
Train
Amtrak Adirondack
The Adirondack Line is an easy (and very scenic) option to get from NYC to the Adirondacks. The closest station is Westport, NY where you can get a taxi to Keene Valley or Saranac Lake. Or, take it an extra stop to Plattsburgh, where you can pick up a rental car. *Note: The train line is currently terminating in Albany due to COVID-related service reductions. We hope it will reopen in the Spring.
Flight
Upstate NY Airports
The closest major airports are in Plattsburgh (PBG, ~1 hour away) and Albany (ALB, ~2 hours away). There is also the very small Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) 20 minutes outside of Saranac Lake. The only commercial flights to this airport are via Cape Air and connect through Boston.
Travel Note
Getting around once you get here
The Adirondack region is very spread out and there are extremely limited public transportation options (you'll be waiting a looooong time for an Uber/Lyft). We highly recommend driving or renting a car once you arrive. If you are not comfortable driving, please let us know and we can introduce you to a generous friend or family member who will be happy to give your a lift. We will provide a shuttle bus between the Hotel Saranac and the ceremony location on Saturday.
