There are many fun things to do in New York City. Below are some suggestions: - Times Square - See a Broadway show - Bryant Park - Central Park - MoMA - Guggenheim Museum - Museum of Natural History - Central Park Zoo - Chelsea Market - Chelsea Piers - Hudson River Park - Walk the Brooklyn Bridge Transportation from Long Island into the City: (1) The Long Island Railroad (LIRR): from Hicksville train station to Penn Station -- you can leave your car at the parking lot at Hicksville Train Station (there might be a fee for parking if not on the weekend) (2) Drive: there is now the NYC Congestion Tax. I would not suggest driving. Transportation through the city: - Google Maps is a great tool to get around! It gives great suggestions for subways. Typically, from Penn Station, you can look for the 1/2/3 or the A/C/E and those can bring you to many destinations that you could be looking for. - Ubers/Lyfts/Taxis are always an option!
Cold Spring Harbor also has a very cute town with food and shops for a fun day!
Early July is the best time to visit!
