Market Square
Market Square is a historic local neighborhood shopping center in Lake Forest, Illinois, United States, in the Chicago metropolitan area. Opened in 1916, it is often cited as the first planned shopping center in the United States, with unique building designs and a small neighborhood feel. The Starbucks Reserve is also located here. There is plenty of space for free parking as well!
Townee Square Restaurant
The Meyer's favorite breakfast spot. Located in the center of downtown Libertyville. Libertyville Ace Hardware used to be in this lot until the 1950s when they moved to their current location. The lot is now home to the Grecian family-owned breakfast diner: Townee (town) Square!

Known to locals as Finn's. Cool atmosphere, great wings, great beer! We also recommend Tighthead, a local brewery near city hall in Mundelein.

Pine Meadow Golf Club
Great range, reasonable prices, great course! The bride and groom like to go here when John is in town and the weather is nice.
Greg's Frozen Custard
Mundelein's Ted Drewes... technically they have a sign showing Ted Drewes is #1 and Greg's is #6... but who doesn't root for the underdog? Greg's Frozen Custard is way better according to Madie. According to John, it's a close second.
Mellody Farm
Located in the heart of Chicagoland’s northern suburb of Vernon Hills, Mellody Farm offers a convenient, open-air, urban-inspired, regionally located shopping and dining destination. John and Madie love Invicto, located in the outdoor center. Especially their pollo asado mulas with their signature sauce. Can't forget the churro milkshake too!
