New England Things

The Wedding Website of Kristen Nishimi and John Russo
As all our local Mainers can attest, early fall in Maine is really hard to beat. We plan on hanging around camp on Sebago lake all wedding weekend, but there is a ton to do if you are planning to stick around and explore - here are a few ideas but please feel free to reach out for more recommendations or questions!

Portland

Portland, ME

John's hometown Some places we love... Restaurants: Duckfat, The Honey Paw, Central Provisions, Eventide, Teralingua, Izikaya Minato, Scales, Crispy Gai Bars and Breweries: Allagash, Oxbow, Bissell Brothers, Maine Beer Co, Novare Res, Great Lost Bear Coffee/Breakfast: Hot Suppa, Tandem Coffee, Toast, Coffee by Design Check out the old port and eastern prom, explore the islands by ferry, and see the Portland Head Light for a quintessential New England lighthouse If you want to venture beyond Portland - highly recommend Acadia National Park, which is about 3 hours north of Portland, check out Bar Harbor and some amazing coastal views and hikes; or Kennebunkport south of Portland has beachy quaint vibes

Boston

Boston, MA

Where we met Places we love... Areas: We lived in Cambridge and Somerville so are partial to that side of the Charles River... check out Harvard, Central, and Davis Square. But Boston is nice too, a ton to do in the North End, Beacon Hill, Backbay, and Seaport areas. Walk the Freedom Trail, see some baseball at Fenway Park, or catch a show at the Paradise, the Sinclair, or the Middle East - we're happy to share more recs! Restaurants: Gustazo, Rosebud Tavern, Yume Wo Katare, Sarma, Row 34, Spoke Winebar, Giulia, The Abbey, Bronwyn, The Salty Pig, Alden & Harlow, The Beehive Bars and Breweries: Saloon in Davis Square, Redbones, Brick and Mortar, Trillium, Aeronaut Brewery, Drink, Night Shift, Lamplighter, Cambridge Brewing Co If you're driving up from Boston to Maine, Portsmouth NH is a great pit stop. Cute port town with some good cafes and restaurants and streets to wander.
