Travel Note

Driving to Jackson

South of Boston: Route Overview: Start: Take I-95 North toward Portsmouth, NH. Transition: In Portsmouth, merge onto NH-16 North (Spaulding Turnpike). Continue: Follow NH-16 North through towns like Rochester and Ossipee. Final Stretch: Stay on NH-16 North until you reach Jackson! Distance & Time: Approximately 145 miles; around 3 hours of driving time, depending on traffic. Tips: Scenic Route: If you’re not in a rush, consider taking the Kancamagus Highway (NH-112) for a scenic drive through the White Mountains. Fuel & Snacks: There are several rest stops and gas stations along NH-16.

Portland International Jetport (PWM)

If convenience and ease matter most, and you’re flying in from anywhere in the continental U.S., Portland, Maine (PWM) is your best bet. You can fly into Manchester-Boston Regional or Boston Logan International if it’s easier for you to get there.

This is where we’re staying and hosting our wedding. Nestled at the base of Black Mountain, the inn offers a cozy, rustic atmosphere with Adirondack-style rooms and cottages. Guests can enjoy amenities like the seasonal outdoor pool, paddle boats, and a trout pond. The on-site Shovel Handle Pub, housed in a restored 1842 barn, serves hearty meals and features live music. The property includes scenic outdoor spaces and the historic barn, providing the setting for our ceremony and reception.
