Flight

Atlanta (ATL) International Airport

ATL is about a 1 hour 25 min drive from Athens - please note that Atlanta is notorious for rush hour traffic, so book your flight times accordingly (avoid rush hour if possible)! To access the Rental Car Center from the Airport, walk out of the West end of the terminal under the covered walkway. Take the escalator up to the SkyTrain station and take the train to the Rental Car Center.

Travel Note

Groome Shuttle - easy transportation option between ATL airport and Athens

Groome is a convenient shuttle that runs from the ATL airport to the downtown Athens hotels. This is a nice option if you prefer to avoid renting a car. Make sure to book your reservation on their website to reserve your round trip. Pickup instructions at the ATL airport: after claiming your baggage at Terminal North or Terminal South baggage claim, follow the signs toward Ground Transportation/MARTA. Exit the terminal through Door W1 or W2 and follow the covered walkway across the taxi pickup to the first lane in the spaces numbered 1-8.

Flight

Greenville (GSP) International Airport

GSP is about 1 hour 45 minutes to downtown Athens. While the drive might be a bit longer, there is usually less traffic than going through Atlanta, so it could be an easier drive. The rental car facility is on site, near the baggage area. Both United and Frontier have direct flights to GSP from Denver!
