Florence

Florence Airport (FLR) is approximately 40 minutes by car to Lucca city center or an hour and fifteen minutes by train (making local stops). You can expect a connection if flying into this airport. Train schedules and tickets can be found here: https://www.trenitalia.com/ The Florence train station is called Firenze S. M. Novella.

Pisa

Flying into Pisa (PSA) is the closest airport to Lucca and is around 20-30 minutes from the centre. The wedding venue is another 20 minutes from Lucca centre. Since this is a smaller airport, it will require a connection through another airport. Buses run from Pisa airport to Lucca (Piazzale Verdi, last stop) about every hour and cost 3,50€. The bus company is called VAI BUS. Buy the ticket inside the airport, near the ARRIVALS, on the right. The bus is more comfortable than the train and direct.

Flight

Milan

Nonstop flights are available to Milan (MXP). A scenic, high-speed train ride to Florence takes about 1.5 hours. From there, you could rent a car in Florence and arrive in Lucca in 40 minutes. A less expensive option than renting a car is to take a second train from Florence to Lucca city center, which takes an hour and fifteen minutes.

Rome

Nonstop flights are also available to Rome (FCO). Similar to Milan, a scenic, high-speed train ride to Florence takes about an hour and a half. From there, a second train can get you to Lucca in an hour and fifteen minutes. If renting a car in Florence, you could get there in 40 minutes.
