The Browns Point Improvement Club is located next to the Browns Point Lighthouse. The address is 201 Ton A Wan Da Ave NE, Tacoma, WA 98422. If you are coming from I-5 you will take exit 142B for S 348th St. Continue on S 348th St forever. It will change names a few times but keep following it straight (we're talking like 11 miles or something), all the way down to the bottom of the hill in Browns Point, where you will make a sharp right onto 509 (the road comes to a T). Keep left at the fork to follow Le-Lou-Wa Place (landmark: Browns Point Diner) and continue around as that road changes funky names too. The lighthouse park and clubhouse are on the left as you come around the curve onto Ton-A-Wan-Da. There is a big gated parking lot, which will be open. If you are coming from 509 N, you just follow it forever until you keep left at the Diner as well (just past the Cliff House). The ceremony will be by the cottage over by the water, and you will have to walk through the grass a bit!
The title of our theme is “Tastefully Wizard Inspired.” Imagine the Schwisow’s and Boyte-Whites are two old American wizarding families, with the most prized children marrying in the modern day. Robes not required but are happily welcomed, as are wands. (No attacks of Dark wizards are anticipated, so you should be fine.) The gist: if you are as into Harry Potter as we are, you will be positively charmed by the references! But if it's unfamiliar territory, you won't feel out of place, or confused. I think. Love is magical!
We love food (a lot) and we want to facilitate mingling, dancing, and partying at our reception, so we've opted to serve heavy hors d'oeuvres with a variety of options instead of a sit-down dinner. Expect places to sit and eat should that be your desire, but also a smattering of bistro tables both inside and out for you to casually chill with your squad. Beer and wine will be widely available, of course. Never fear.
The venue we chose has the option for both an indoor or outdoor ceremony, so we will make our plan depending on the weather. If it's nice, do plan to be outside for a brief time; we will be nearly on the beach so there may be a bit of a breeze!
We want our wedding to be fun for everyone who attends, and for you that may mean having your S.O. to dance with! We just ask that you please let us know in your RSVP that you plan on bringing someone.
