The Grand Plan

"One’s destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things." - Henry Miller

As with many things in this life, marriage is but a foray into the unknown, commitment to a future that could never possibly be planned. In celebration of this, Jill and Andrew have selected to start their journey together with a literal journey into the literal unknown. Only their backpacks in tow, our newlyweds will wander the world in a tiny car; sleeping under the stars, seeing the sights, and discovering each other in the freeing and foreign context of travel. The itinerary has been left as minimal as the bindles of these courageous young vagabonds. Only a few landmarks on the list: The Grand Canyon, New York, Paris and Florence; dates, too, are thrown to the wind for they have no time to capture, only dreams. While zigzagging across the country in a manner that would dizzy even the most seasoned of taxi drivers, these heroic lovebirds will burn sweet rubber across the states until reaching New York where airfare to Paris is super frickin' cheap. Then the plan ends. Without any practical idea of goals or even food probably, Jill and Andrew, the veritable road warriors of the west, will scrape by on as little money as humanly possible while trying to maintain their young relationship in the harsh environment of Northern Europe. -- by Andrew Boyte-White To stay tuned with updates, of which there will be many, check out our new blog, www.TheWanderBlobs.com! Our Love Story

When a college romance actually becomes the one.

Though Jill thought Andrew was cute the minute she spotted him working the front desk at her residence hall freshman year, the two didn't actually "meet" until Andrew became roommates with her friend from high school a year later (Andrew's junior year). Several months of obnoxious flirting ensued, casual "platonic" couch snuggles, and one-on-one hangouts that weren't really "dates," until finally the pressure of Valentine's Day pushed Andrew to ask Jill out. For their actual first date, Andrew showed up in a blazer and a bowtie--a fitting outfit for an afternoon sail across Bellingham Bay on his boat named the "Danger Kitten," and once they anchored at Boulevard Park, they enjoyed coffee and a walk. A few hours later saw their first kiss over a bottle of wine and Doctor Who, and it was a done deal. They moved in together just under a year later and spent the rest of their college years side-by-side, reminding each other to study and always sharing a pot of coffee each morning. Andrew finished his bachelor's degree in 2015, and completed his GIS certification in June of 2016 when Jill graduated with her degree. After graduation, they moved back to Tacoma, the hometown of both of them, to start their careers and figure out this whole post-college life. They got a cat, some new jobs, and October 2017 brought an exciting new step in their relationship: a ring. Soon, a wedding! Next: a lifetime of adventures. A road trip, backpacking abroad, grad school, kids someday, who knows! We just want to say thank you for being here for us, we are beyond grateful and so incredibly lucky.
