Great patio and great burgers, our favorite place to stop after a long hike!

Park Vista Motor Lodge & Diner

1907 Park Vista Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694

Great hospitality and food. They also have a full bar! We had the best time eating at the diner, when we stayed at Park Vista. Their diner is open to the public not just guests!

Popular Hikes in the Area

Boone Fork Trail (5 mile loop)- easy to moderate, there are some ladders you have to go up or down depending on the direction you do the loop. Rough Ridge Lookout (1/3 mile out and back)- easy and beautiful overlook of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but heavily populated during October, recommend early morning or late evening to avoid jam packed trails. Beacon Heights Overlook (under 1 mile out and back)- easy, amazing view and overlook, also may be heavily populated during October!

The Blue Ridge Parkway

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 469-mile scenic drive connecting Shenandoah National Park to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Virginia and North Carolina. Known as "America's Favorite Drive," it features long-range mountain vistas, 26 tunnels, and numerous hiking trails. The Parkway is free, has no stoplights, and is popular for autumn foliage. Prepare for leaf peeping slow downs, but nothing beats this drive and all the scenery in the fall!
