Kelly lived right down the hall from Jessie freshmen year at JMU and with our bond of gymnastics and love of being goofy together have been BFFs ever since! They lived together at JMU with Emily the rest of the years at JMU. Kelly went away to PT school at Pitt after JMU but then moved to the DC area and she and Jessie became roommates once again! They even experienced living in the Navy Yard together. Now Jessie tries to visit Kelly during all her travels!

Mark Gabriele

Best Man

Mark lives in Harrisonburg and is a professor at JMU. He swam at JMU when he was an undergraduate. While swimming was the link that connected Dane and Mark their friendship has grown way beyond the pool from backpacking trips, water feature building and just hanging out and enjoying their love of music, sports, and being outside.

Bethany Belcher

Bethany and Jessie have been friends since McKinley Elementary in 4th grade! Always knowing how to make Jessie laugh incredibly hard, having first sleepovers and Jessie's dad introducing Bethany to BBQ Ribs! They have always been able to rely on one another even the times Bethany was living in another country or in Denver, CO!

Nate and Dane became friends through Nate's brother, Ryan. After Ryan's passing, Nate and Dane grew closer. Dane continued his annual summer pilgrimage to Ottawa, IL to see Nate (as he did to see Ryan).

Emily Dugan

Emily and Jessie lived right across the hall from each other their Freshmen year at JMU! It helped they had friends in common (although it took a little bit for them to realize this as they kept catching glimpses staring at each other during move in day). Immediately their friendship took off the night that Emily got stuck in the elevator in Eagle Hall. Between Emily/Jessie Pizzas, being roommates during college and after, all college breaks because Vienna was only a few exits away from Arlington, to later sharing a Costco membership together , Jessie helping Emily and Ziggy move to Texas, and Jessie being in Emily's wedding they have always been there for each other!

Mike Cervenka

Dane and Mike swam together while they were at Mizzou. Although Mike lives in Minnesota with his wife and two daughters, Dane and Mike continued to stay in touch and try to see each other every summer, often meeting in Ottawa, IL.

Taryn Erbe

Taryn is one of Jessie's oldest friends. They became friends back in the Cricket's days at Gymini Gymnastics in Herndon, VA at 6 years old. As they grew up together at the gym they were always giggling (ahem..belly laughing) making jokes, acting silly, imitating and quoting SNL and movies, and of course...dancing. Now Jessie misses Taryn as she is on the West Coast but they make the most of their time when they do get to see each other.

Billy Parisi

Dane met Billy during Dane's second phase at Mizzou (he was there a long time) after he finished swimming and undergrad. Billy became his roommate through their mutual friend, Jamie, who Billy went to high school with. Billy was a 21 year old freshmen at Mizzou after completing culinary school and quickly rising to become an executive chef but wanting to pivot into something else. Billy now resides in northern Indiana, outside Chicago, with his wife and daughter.

Jackie Evard

Jackie was one of the first girls on the JMU Swim and Dive team to reach out to Jessie and it was an instant connection of friendship! One that involves lots of laughing and dancing. Over 2020 Jessie, Jackie, Layne, and Wolla remained in virtual touch that brought them even closer together. Jackie has always been such a great listener and friend to Jessie over the years!

Kyle Sanders

Kyle and Dane were in the same class at Mizzou and swam together. They did virtually everything together from freshmen year through their 4 years together (good and bad). He is a lifelong friend and resides outside St. Louis with his wife and two sons.

Layne Frantz

Layne and Jessie became soulmates after Layne moved to Arlington after she graduated from grad school at JMU. Cooking dinners, hanging out, going out and doing various activities all while cracking up along the way have kept Layne and Jessie so close! Jessie and Layne have been apart of each others big and small moments over the years of their friendship. They also both were on the JMU Swim and Dive team together!

Brother of the bride, Dane has had the pleasure of getting to know Nick especially while Jessie was still living at home back in Arlington. From Nationals baseball games to helping Dane and Jessie move, Nick has been constant in Jessie's life and we are honored to have him be a part of our wedding.

Kristen Smith (Wolla)

Bridesmaid

Wolla (Kristen) has always been an incredible support to Jessie! She is always there for a laugh (especially right when Jessie has taken a sip of something...) and is the best of times herself! Wolla and Jessie both grew up in Arlington and had a few classes at Yorktown HS together (Leadership and Diversity...wooo) but really grew close when they lived together during their Grad School year to become teachers at JMU. They both were on the Swim and Dive team together at JMU (in fact, Wolla encouraged Jessie to join the Dive team..thank goodness she did)! Wolla has always been there for any and all events in Jessie's life big or small and Jessie wouldn't have it any other way!

Sarah Weisz

Sarah and Jessie can't recall the exact moment they became the best of friends but their epic trip to Australia and New Zealand really sealed the deal. Ironically, that is when Jessie and Dane started talking over text messages- little did we know then it would lead to Sarah being in their wedding 6 years later! Sarah and Jessie taught together at Tuckahoe Elementary School in Arlington, VA (where Sarah still teaches 5th grade now). Sarah is the most reliable friend and incredible listener and is always down for a hike, to learn a new dance, or really to do anything. She has been there for Jessie in so many ways over their friendship.
