Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jessie Everett and Dane Pedersen
There are so many fun things to do in the area and great places to eat! Here are just a few of our favorites.
Jack Browns Beer and Burger Joint

Jack Browns Beer and Burger Joint

80 S. Main St., Harrisonburg, VA 22801

The original Jack Browns! If you have never been you HAVE to come get a burger here. Before I moved back I had dreams about these burgers. In fact, I still do. They have some outside seating and a new middle area so it is bigger than it was in the beginning! And don't forget to try a fried oreo.

Bella Luna Wood-Fired Pizza

80 W. Water St., Harrisonburg, VA 22801

One of our go to date night spots. Their olives and bread is our go to appetizer and they have incredible homemade pastas. They also have some great wood fired pizzas in all different combinations of toppings! We love the ambiance and how rustic it is.

Edith J. Carrier Arboretum

780 University Blvd., Harrisonburg, VA 22807

Any of the JMU Alums will remember this place but it is such a beautiful arboretum with a walking trail. Great place for a nice walk outside!

Three Notch'd Brewing

241 E. Market Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801

Originated in Charlottesville but a tasty brewery if you are into trying new brews!

Joshua Wilton House

Joshua Wilton House

412 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801

High end dining- one of our go too date spots for celebrations or when I want to impress my visitors! Incredible food but they also have a really neat lounge area with a fireplace for just a nice spot to get a fancy drink (Or just a glass of wine). Beautiful old town style home.

Billy Jack's Shack

Billy Jack's Shack

92 S. Main St, Harrisonburg, VA 22801

A great spot for any meal but the best spot for brunch. Great bloody mary's and some hearty brunch options! Also known for their sticky nuggs! Enjoy a fun brunch before our wedding on Saturday! Get there early to beat the college student rush :)

Green Valley Book Fair

2192 Green Valley Lane, Mount Crawford, VA 22841

For a teacher or avid reader this place is inCREDIBLE. They have a GIANT selection of books (Children's books, young adult books, books for adults as well, literally any books for any age) at a discounted price. I think most of my collection of books in my classroom and in my own personal library at home is from here. They also sell other items like puzzles, decor, coloring books, toys, etc. you name it! About a 20 min drive from Harrisonburg but totally worth it to check it out if you are into any of that! Grab some ice cream from Smiley's right down the road or lunch at the Overlook Produce Market close-by!

Agora Downtown Market

Agora Downtown Market

165 S. Main, Harrisonburg, VA 22801

The most amazing group of small businesses/shops! Local artists and artisans have lots of unique items here! Have fun walking around and browsing. Down the street is also Lady Jane another favorite of mine to shop around at. And across the street is the Yellow Button which is a cute ladies fashion boutique!

Hillandale Park

801 Hillandale Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA 22801

Our go to spot for a long walk with our dog, Maddie! Great trails and some great views/easy to follow paths. About a 5 min drive from Hotel Madison!

Pale Fire Brewing Co.

217 South Liberty Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801
, (540) 217-5452

Another in-town brewery that has the best/biggest outdoor seating area.

Brothers Craft Brewing

800 North Main Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22802
, (540) 421-6599

A final in-town brewery with the best beers (our opinion). Has some outdoor seating along with plenty of indoor seating.

For all the days along the way
