Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan)
Highly recommend spending time in Old San Juan (or staying here if you're interested)! We had an amazing time during our visit and will be staying there for a few days for a little mini-moon right after the wedding! So colorful and filled with culture, great restaurants, bars, and shops. Calle de la Fortaleza is the 'Umbrella Street' where most of the photos you see online are taken, centrally located so a good street to search for on a map to get there, although the umbrellas weren't there when we went due to the recent hurricane.
El Yunque National Forest
If you're planning to rent a car and are the outdoors type - check out El Yunque National Forest! It's approximately a 30 minute drive away from Fairmont El San Juan Hotel and you're able to drive through a lot of the forest itself (stopping to park and take photos of waterfalls and beautiful terrain, of course). You'll need to reserve an entrance pass ahead of time since they sell out very easily, they're available at the link below and can be booked up to 30 days in advance.
