What's the currency of Puerto Rico?

Answer

USD! We had no issue using our credit cards while we were down there either but always a good idea to have some cash on hand when traveling.

Answer

The main language is Spanish but most Puerto Ricans also speak English.

Will I need to rent a car?

Answer

Definitely not, but might be a good idea if you're planning to travel to different parts of the island. Our recommended hotels are only 5 minutes away from the airport and Ubers/cabs are available in the area. Old San Juan is not entirely car friendly due to the one-way streets and heavy traffic but street parking (if you're lucky) and public parking garages are available - Doña Fela is the one we used and is very centrally located.

What do I do if the room block is full?

Answer

Reach out to me! If there's enough demand for more availability, I'm happy to work with the hotels to see if more discounted rooms can be added. Otherwise, the hotels may still have availability outside of our room block or I'd recommend looking into Airbnb/VRBO rentals!

Do I need a passport?

Answer

No! Driver's License is all you'll need since Puerto Rico is a US territory.

Can I use Fairmont's pools and amenities if I'm not staying there?

Answer

Is Isla Verde Beach a public beach?

Answer

Yes! Anyone can access the beach at any time at no charge. This includes the area that's just outside the Fairmont's pools.
