Second Beach
Second Beach, located in Middletown, is our favorite beach on the Island! Check out the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge for a beautiful trail right along the ocean with views of the stunning wildlife. Another option is First Beach, located in Newport.
Cliff Walk
If you have some free time over our wedding weekend, we highly recommend checking out Newport's world-famous Cliff Walk. It’s a gorgeous 3.5-mile walk directly along the coast, and it even walks directly past the campus of Salve Regina University and our reception venue, Ochre Court! During their freshman year, Jesse and Shawn spent many days walking the Cliff Walk together as they were getting to know each other!
Thames Street
Thames Street is the vibrant heart of downtown Newport, lined with shopping, local coffee shops, bars, and incredible seafood restaurants. Please note that our wedding weekend also falls during the annual Newport International Boat Show!
Bowen's Wharf
Located right off Thames Street, Bowen’s Wharf is the anchor of Newport's waterfront. The historic brick marketplace is packed with boutiques, local art galleries, and famous dockside restaurants. Sit near the ocean, watch the boats go by, and enjoy a famous lobster roll as you enjoy the weekend!
Newport Mansions Preservation Society
A trip to Newport wouldn't be complete without a tour of the historical Newport mansions! Take some time to visit the Breakers, Rosecliff mansion, Marble House, and More!
Newport International Boat Show
Our Wedding weekend falls on the same weekend as Newport's International Boat Show! If you wish, you can purchase tickets to the Boat Show, which is located in Bowen's Wharf in downtown Newport. Take time to admire the boats and experience some great Rhode Island cuisine!
Newport Classic Cruises Bowen's Wharf
Take a sunset cruise with cocktails and amazing views of the Newport harbor! Located right in downtown Newport. Grab a drink and bite to eat at the Black Pearl afterwards!
Ocean Drive
Ocean drive offers some of the most scenic views in Newport! We recommend taking a drive along Ocean Drive near sunset, and continuing on to nearby Castle Hill Inn for a drink and dinner on their outdoor lawn overlooking the Harbor!

For those who wish for yoga or pilates to start the weekend off with some relaxation, this is your place! Get a coffee from the famous Nitro Bar afterwards!

Take a visit to Jesse's all-time favorite coffee shop and cafè in Newport - Drift Cafè - for amazing coffee, smoothies, acaí bowls, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch options!

Newport Lobster Shack- Live Market
Run directly by local fishermen, this dockside lobster shack serves up incredible lobster rolls, fresh lobster dinners, and creamy lobster bisque. You order from the kitchen trailer and eat at outdoor picnic tables right on the marina. It’s casual, family-friendly, and offers a front-row seat to the harbor. Great option for lunch!
Newport Vineyards
A wonderful option for a day at the winery, a walk through the vineyard, or a delicious lunch or dinner!
Fieldstones
Located in nearby Portsmouth RI, Fieldstones is one of our favorite dinner options on the Island!
