Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jesse Applehans and Hogan Danneberg
We're so excited for you to be in Steamboat and enjoy some of our favorite places. If you're staying by the base of the mountain, many of our favorite spots are walking distance.

Steamboat Mountain Base: Restaurants

If you're staying by the base of the Steamboat resort, there is so much to do right outside your door! Some of our favorite places to eat and drink are below: THE PARAMOUNT: Delicious breakfast and lunch THE WILD PLUM: An awesome market and cafe with coffee, quick breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, a gelato bar and wine store. THE RANGE: A food hall style restaurant with ramen, pizza, sandwiches, tacos and a full bar. A great outdoor spot with lawn games and music. LOS LOCOS TACOS: Great option for lunch, dinner, or drinks - good food, vibes and outdoor seating with a view of the mountain. MYTHOLOGY: Distillery with good bar food and snacks. Mostly outdoor. We will likely be hanging out near here Friday morning/afternoon.

Steamboat Mountain Base: Things to Do

BURGESS CREEK BEACH: Pack a cooler or grab a drink at a nearby restaurant and grab a seat on the beach! The creek runs down the base of the mountain and is the perfect spot to enjoy some sun and play in the water. A favorite for kids and dogs too! SHOPS: Walk around the base of the mountain and find lots of great shops for Steamboat merch, mountain gear, etc. RIDE THE GONDOLA: Get a ticket for $30 (free for 2025-2026 Ikon Pass Holders). At the top, you can check out the beautiful views, explore with a little bit of hiking, or hang out at Thunderhead Lodge. HIKING: -- Thunderhead Hiking Trail: Takes you from the base of the mountain to the top of the gondola. Full hike is 6.9mi, 2,214ft elevation gain, and around 4 hours long, but you can do just the lower portion for a shorter hike. --There are a handful of trails that start from the top of the Gondola (ranging from easy to medium difficulty) if you want to start at higher elevation without the extra work!

Downtown Steamboat: Restaurants

Downtown Steamboat is a quick 10 minute drive from the base of the mountain and is on the city's bus route. Be sure to check out some of our favorite spots below: BREAKFAST: -- Big Iron Coffee -- Creekside Cafe -- Yampa Valley Kitchen FOOD, DRINKS, & HAPPY HOUR ON THE RIVER -- Aurum Food & Wine -- E3 Steakhouse -- Yampa River Ice House -- Primrose -- Sunpies Bistro -- Taco Cabo RESTAURANTS NEAR MAIN ST: -- Salt and Lime Tacos -- Corner Slice Pizza -- Backdoor Burgers & Sports Bar -- The Commons Food Hall

Downtown Steamboat: Things to Do

SHOPPING: Ohana boutique, Steamboat Olive Oil, Straightline Sports, and FM Light & Sons (a Steamboat staple for some cowboy gear!) HOWELSEN PARK & EMERALD MOUNTAIN: Lots to do on this little mountain right in downtown; they have a park, easy hikes/walks, mountain biking, and the ALPINE SLIDE. YAMPA RIVER TRAIL: Flat and easy walking/biking trail along the Yampa River that runs right through downtown.
