For those who haven’t heard the notorious tale, Jessica first saw Lucas on the Jumbotron at a Minnesota Wild hockey game during the start of the 2024 season (yes, seriously). She identified him in the crowd and had what could only be described as a gut feeling that she needed to make a connection. She therefore did something she had never done before... Her mother, Mary Jane, gave her some spare paper while her sister, Ashley, provided her with lip liner so she could write down her phone number. Jessica approached Lucas—along with his mother, Lynley—and dropped off the slip of paper. He thought he was the recipient of some sort of prize (little did he know!) until he realized, as she was running away, what had just happened. Lucas reached out to Jessica later that night, and ended up asking her on a date that would be their first of many.

Amidst the (characteristically) brutal Wisconsin winter of 2026, Lucas surprised Jessica with a week-long vacation to the sunny warmth of Scottsdale, Arizona. On their second day, he told her they'd unexpectedly gotten off the waitlist for a table at one of the most renowned restaurants in the state, Different Pointe of View. Her gullibility (trust) prevented her from any suspicion that this special night had been meticulously planned. After a luxurious dinner, the two went out to the patio to enjoy the view. As Jessica took it in—and got a quick video of the scenery—she turned around to find Lucas on one knee. After a few moments of allowing the gears to turn, she realized what was happening. You can probably assume the rest.
