In 1987, during his first visit to Boulder, Mayor Maksud Ikramov announced that Dushanbe planned to present our city with a Teahouse to celebrate the establishment of sister city ties. From 1987 -1990, more than 40 artisans in several cities of Tajikistan created the decorative elements our Teahouse, including its hand-carved and hand-painted ceiling, tables, stools, columns, and exterior ceramic panels. This is great place to grab lunch or just sit down for a drink and admire the architecture, it is stunning!
Chautauqua is located up against the "flat irons" (if you've never seen them before, you will understand why they are called that as soon as you arrive in Boulder). The fan favorite hike there is the "Chautauqua Loop" which is an easy hike that offers great views. https://dayhikesneardenver.com/chautauqua-loop-boulder-colorado/
There are a bunch of well-known breweries in Boulder, so feel free to explore! One of our favorites is Upslope.
Rocky Mountain National Park is an hour away from Boulder and 30 minutes from Lyons, Colorado. If you plan to go, please make sure to book a reservation to enter the park! Awesome things to do are drive Trail Ridge Road, hike to Calypso Cascades (3.5 miles RT), or fly fishing in Morraine Park. Estes Park is a cute mountain and tourist town to grab lunch or dinner.
