Welcome

For our first anniversary, in August of 2017, we took an architectural tour of Chicago. It was incredible.

During the first couple years of our relationship, we lived over two hours apart! We often drove to stay with one another in Madison or Chicago, but occasionally we would meet for dinner in Rockford.

The cabin has always been a meaningful place for us. This is a picture from one of our first holidays together, Thanksgiving 2017.

We LOVE camping! We met on a camping trip in 2016 and we make a point of taking a few trips every year. This year, we're going at least once a month from April to September!

Paddlesports are another favorite outdoor activity. This canoe has been rehomed in favor of lighter weight kayaks. We're lucky to live in Wisconsin, where lakes and rivers are abundant.

Aaron is very into music and we love attending concerts of pretty much any kind. This one was a string quartet rendition of Radiohead!

We're big fans of hiking, as well as camping and paddling. This shot is from a 2018 trip to Hocking Hills when we went to visit Miranda and Eric in Ohio.

Our first and only (so far!) international trip was to Mexico in 2018. Las Pozas, a massive sculpture garden in a tiny mountain town, was a big highlight.

Honestly, is there anything better than spending a weekend at the cabin with your favorite people? We can't wait to do it on a grand scale on our wedding day!

We love to share a good smoke. Here we are at our one of our places in Madison, Drackenbergs Cigar bar.

Did you know Jess played softball for 13 years? She still loves going to ball games. This one was a Star Wars theme night at the Madison Mallards stadium in 2019.

In 2019, we left Madison for a new adventure in Central Wisconsin. We lived on Jess's ancestral farmland for a year before settling in Stevens Point.

Aaron got Jess hooked on playing Dungeons & Dragons. Here's one of our main adventuring parties at the farm in Mosinee. Sara, Andrew, Ben, John, and Danielle came to visit!

Jess absolutely adores Christmas. Here we are at the family Christmas party in 2019, at the Jarmolinski's house.

Our go-to date night is definitely dinner and a movie. And by "dinner" we mean "all the popcorn we can possibly fit into our faces".

We try to get back to Madison and Chicago frequently to see our friends, though the pandemic has certainly put that on hold. This was an awesome day at Olbrich Gardens with Aaron, Codie, and Bronwyn.

If there's one thing we can't resist, it's corn on the cob. Just kidding, it's festivals and fairs! This is from the 2019 Edgar Steam Show. The corn was cooked by steam engine!

We are so looking forward to more trips to the Bristol Renaissance Faire this coming year. Bring on those giant turkey legs.

2020 wasn't all bad. We got engaged during a trip to New Mexico in February!

We worked hard to make our own fun during quarantine, including sledding right in front of our house on the farm! My grandma used to do the same in this very spot, with cardboard instead of plastic.

The pandemic couldn't stop us from camping at least once in 2020. Here we are Columbus Day weekend at Devil's Lake State Park, where our elopement will take place.

Jess was definitely up for the challenge of finding socially distanced outdoor activities, including this visit to Jurustic Park in Marshfield, WI. The owner and creator himself gave us a tour!

Another bright spot in 2020! In September, we bought our first home together.

Our wedding photographers, Bryan and Olivia, became our first friends in our new hometown. They made us feel so welcome.

Not even a global pandemic can stop us. We've got our marriage license in hand and we're ready to do this thing, come hell or high water.
