Hotel

Club Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort

333 North Myers Street, Oceanside, CA 92054

The wedding party and families will be staying at the Club Wyndham resort on the water in Oceanside! This hotel is a 15 minute drive from the venue. Due to its location and popularity, the hotel doesn't offer discounts for wedding parties, but we'd love to see you in the halls, or feel free to swing by so we can show you the amenities! As with all hotels, rates and availability vary throughout the year, so if you find a place you like, grab it while you can.

Hotel

Best Western Plus Oceanside Palms

909 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054

This hotel is also in downtown Oceanside. Like the Wyndham, it does not offer courtesy rates for wedding parties, but it does offer more affordable rates, and is only 0.7 miles - 5 minute drive, 10 minute walk - from where we will be staying and the heart of downtown Oceanside, making it a great alternative. It will also be a 15 minute drive from the venue.

Hotel

Courtyard by Marriott Oceanside

3501 Seagate Way, Oceanside, CA 92056

This hotel is a bit more inland, so it will be slightly closer to the wedding venue. It is a 10 minute drive from the venue. We have reserved a block of rooms at this hotel, so if you'd like to take advantage of the offer, please use the link below. Rooms w/ 1 King bed are $189 per night and rooms w/ 2 Queen beds are $209 per night. The offer applies for 2 night stays and must be booked by September 21st. There are a limited number available, so the earlier you book, the better!

Hotel

Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach

6450 Carlsbad Boulevard, Carlsbad, CA 92011

While this hotel is slightly farther away (25 minutes from the venue), it is a beautiful location literally across the street from the ocean! We considered this as one of our preferred hotels before ultimately going with Club Wyndham, but we'd still recommend this to anyone in a prime spot near freeways, downtown Carlsbad, and the shore.

Travel Note

General Areas to Stay

Oceanside This will be the closest town to the venue, and also happens to be a bustling beach city. It has a busy downtown with a long boardwalk and one of the longest piers in the US! It's a little older, but that means more personality like the marina and the renovated but historic architecture. This is where we'll be staying and hanging out for the weekend, so feel free to stick around if you're interested. Carlsbad The other nearby beach town. It's a little further from the venue than Oceanside, but being just down the I-5, it's a quick drive up to Oceanside or a little trek to get down to the rest of the beautiful coast San Diego is known for. Going further south you'll find Solana Beach, Del Mar, and eventually the famous La Jolla Shores. Carlsbad is smaller than Oceanside, but newer and densely packed with shops, food, and late night entertainment. Vista This slightly more inland town is the next closest area to the venue. With a quaint but lively downtown, you'll get access to Belching Beaver Brewing and some famous local joints. Vista is also a little older, but more spread out and quiet compared to some of its neighbors. San Marcos With the addition of a new college here, the town has quickly spiked into a hot location for students and new grads, especially as prices in areas closer to the city have been pushing San Diegans farther out to find affordable places to live. Here you'll find a densely packed mix of new residences and businesses springing up to take advantage of the rush. Escondido The last and second largest population along the 78, this area is known for its authentic Mexican culture and cuisine, including TJ Tacos, the northern-San Diego equivalent to the famous Tacos El Gordo. It will likely be one of the most affordable areas to stay due to how north and east it is compared to some of the other viable areas to stay, but with it lying along the I-15 and 78, you'll have quick access wherever you need to go, including the beaches!

Train

Coaster

From the San Diego Old Town Transit Center, it's a few stops down the beautiful train tracks right into the heart of Oceanside. Good option if you don't want to rent a car and plan on using Uber/Lyft, or simply walking around the city during your time here! With the Surfliner service north of Oceanside being temporarily suspended due to coastal erosion, there isn't much difference between the Coaster and Surfliner. The Surfliner costs more and some reviews say it has better seats and fewer stops, but either train should suit your needs just fine!

Train

Sprinter

This train goes west and east between Oceanside and Escondido. If you have any interest in visiting stops along the way, or have found accommodations farther inland and would like to make your way to Oceanside without driving, this could be an option!

Rental Car

Turo

San Diego, CA

Turo is basically the Airbnb for cars, where you rent out a car — booked online or through the Turo app — from the car’s owner. You usually pick up the car at a pickup location, which could be the owner’s house, or a public area like a park, shopping center, or airport. Some owners offer the option to deliver the car to you (usually for an additional fee), which can be handy if you’d like them to meet you at the airport or your hotel. There are also a few cars that offer a feature called Turo Go, where you can unlock the car via an app, allowing you to start the trip without ever meeting your host. We've used this service with success in lieu of the oftentimes more expensive rental car companies, so consider this if you haven't found what you're looking for elsewhere and want to have the freedom to explore San Diego on your own time!

Rental Car

Big Name Rental Car Companies

3355 Admiral Boland Way, San Diego, CA 92101

Here's a website that leads to the large rental car location near to the airport. There's a free shuttle that runs regularly from the airport to the rental center and back, making it a convenient option if you want to rent a car from a bigger name company. While the shuttle runs 24/7, the agencies don't, though they do stay open later than many of their satellite branches.

Travel Note

San Diego Flyer

A free to use shuttle that will take you from the airport to the Old Town Transit Station, and vice versa. This is a great service since you can take the train to and from Oceanside for as little as $6.50 each way and avoid the rental car or taxi services!
