1) Either download the Pronto app, go to the Pronto website, or go to the Coaster website, and purchase a ticket for the route (Northbound) and date/time you plan on traveling. This can be done the day of, but ticket inventory may vary, so if you know the details, the routes open 13 days in advance. 2) Once you arrive in San Diego, take the free Flyer bus from the airport to Old Town Transit Station. You can use this schedule (https://www.san.org/DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/API/Entries/Download?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=14849&language=en-US&PortalId=0&TabId=225) to see when the shuttle will arrive at Terminal 2, and that's when it will pick you up. 3) Once at the Old Town station, find the platform for the Northbound Coaster and wait for your train. 4) The train should take you all the way to Oceanside, with a few stops in between. Oceanside is the last stop so it should be apparent when you've arrived. 5) Congratulations, you've made it to Oceanside! This method costs $6.50, Amtrak is $18, and renting a car or taking an Uber will be much more expensive.
