Travel to Grand Lake

For those of you coming from out of town, Grand Lake Lodge is located roughly 2 hours from Denver. We recommend flying into Denver International Airport, and suggest you factor in an extra 30 minutes of travel time for traffic if arriving in the afternoon hours. There is public transportation available from Denver Airport to Grand Lake via Home James Transportation (shuttle). Reservations are required 72 hours in advance and available for parties of three or more. Please visit ridehj.com/rates if you're interested in this option. If you plan to spend time in Denver and do not need a car, the RTD train into Union Station from DIA is the least expensive option. In the airport, follow signs to the Westin Hotel, RTD train is right below. Take this to the last stop, Union Station. Grand Lake does not have Uber, Lyft or a Taxi service, so we do suggest you rent a car as this is the best way to see and experience all that Denver, Grand Lake and Grand County has to offer (check out our handy tour map above!).

Grand Lake Lodge

The town of Grand Lake has limited accommodations and booking can be in high demand during early Fall. We have put a hold on a small block of rooms at Grand Lake Lodge and encourage you to book your reservation early as certain room types are limited. We recommend booking this option as it will allow you to be on-site for all wedding activities with no driving! Room rate at Grand Lake Lodge is $309/night. Reservations for the room block can be made Monday - Friday between 9am - 4pm PST with our booking coordinator, Amanda Johnson. Please call Amanda at 949-299-1874 and reference the Benvenuto / Davis wedding. If there is no answer, you can leave a voicemail or email ajohnson@highwaywest.com and Amanda will get back to you. Grand Lake Lodge was built in 1920 to serve tourists visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. While this resort was recently remodeled, please be prepared for rustic cabins in the Rocky Mountains giving an “adult-summer camp” feel (in the best way).

Gateway Inn

Gateway Inn is another excellent hotel located only one mile from Grand Lake Lodge and is where our Welcome Party festivities will be taking place! We will have shuttles from Gateway Inn to Grand Lake Lodge for the Wedding Day only. Please see the schedule below and plan accordingly as there are no ubers or lyfts. Pick Up Schedule: 3:25pm - Pickup at Western Riviera 3:35pm - Pickup at Gateway Inn 3:45pm - Arrives at Grand Lake Lodge 4:00pm - End of Service (Ceremony Begins) Drop Off Schedule: 9:30pm - 12:00am - 14 passenger shuttle runs from Grand Lake Lodge to AirBnB, Western Riviera and Gateway Inn

Western Riviera Lakeside Lodging

If you're looking to stay lakeside and in the heart of Grand Lake, Western Riviera offers rooms and cabins that are right on the lake, giving you a spectacular view! This is a great option if you want to be in town with friends, as this location also offers accommodations for larger parties (up to 8). We will have shuttles from Western Riviera to Grand Lake Lodge for the Wedding Day only. Please see the schedule below and plan accordingly as there are no ubers or lyfts. AirBnB or VRBO

If looking for an alternative or larger place for a group, we also encourage you to check out AirBnB or VRBO for accommodations for your party. You'll be able to find large homes or private rooms/condos for smaller groups in the town of Grand Lake. When looking for AirBnBs or VRBOs, make sure you confirm the address and distance from Grand Lake Lodge and consider your transportation knowing there are no Ubers, Lyfts or Taxi services. If you don't want to worry about driving, you can book a ride in advance for pick up and drop off through Home James (ridehj.com/rates or email info@ridehj.com).

Elevation

Grand Lake Lodge is location at 8,769 feet above sea level, and the high altitude can affect everyone differently. Electrolytes and lots of water will be provided at check-in, but please remember to stay hydrated, pack the sunscreen, and keep an eye on your booze (yes… golf balls go 10% further in Colorado… and so do the cocktails!).
