A highlight of any Colorado vacation, RMNP is best accessed via Estes Park. **At this time RMNP utilizes a timed-entry reservation system. Be sure to visit the link to secure your reservation in advance. If available, reserve the permit for the Bear Lake corridor. Check conditions before hiking! Some of these trails required microspikes for traction when I hiked in early June 2022. It could be 90 degrees in Denver and snowing in RMNP! A few of our favorites: Alberta Falls- 1.7 miles roundtrip off of the Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Emerald Lake- 3.5 miles out-and-back passing two gorgeous alpine lakes. Accessed at the Bear Lake Trailhead. Bear Lake Loop- 0.8 miles- completely flat. Bear Lake Trailhead.
Chautauqua encompasses a network of trails ranging from easy to challenging, perfect for a picnic, walk or hike at the base of the Flatirons. The Park is recognized as a National Historic Landmark dating back to the cultural and social "chautauqua movement" of the early twentieth century.
What kind of couple recommends a road race the morning after their wedding? Maybe us.... The Bolder Boulder is a bucket-list 10k winding through neighborhoods, and downtown Boulder before finishing at Folsom Field on the CU campus. The race is huge and the entire community comes out to support the event, which is more akin to a neighborhood block party. Hangovers are no excuse as shots and beer are served along course, if you're feeling a hair of the dog! If running/walking isn't your jam, spectate for a few minutes!
Pearl Street is located in the heart of downtown Boulder and is filled with many local shops, bars and restaurants.
A scenic one hour drive from downtown Boulder, Estes Park is a gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Estes Park is full of outdoor activities, shops and restaurants in gorgeous mountain setting. It's a great place to day trip or spend the night.
Brewery afternoons are a Colorado pastime. Avery is located just outside of Boulder and is a great spot to catch up with family and friends. Try a White Rascal- one of our local favorites!
