Ours began like most iconic, modern love stories- we both swiped right. We met in May 2019 while Natalie was attending a psychology conference in DC, where Jenn was working as an ICU RN. Natalie had a night free and began sifting through Bumble looking, at the very least, for someone to show her around the town! We matched and decided to meet for drinks at a wine bar. There we sat, on the patio, basking in DC's unwavering humidity and talking for hours, learning about each others' families, jobs, hobbies, phobias...When the check arrived, Jenn, over-eager to pay, accidentally reached into Natalie's bag in search of her credit card. Then, she offered to give Natalie a ride home and proceeded to get lost, driving in circles searching for Natalie's hotel. Despite first date awkwardness, we both knew this was something special. Living across the country from each other, we began FaceTiming nightly. A month and a half after meeting for drinks, Jenn booked a flight to visit Natalie in Denver and the rest is history...

Jenn managed to surprise Natalie while visiting Natalie's hometown of Chicago. Natalie thought she was walking along the water to board a boat cruise when Jenn popped the question on North Ave Beach backed by the magnificent Chicago skyline. (In reality, no question was popped because she was too stressed. Jenn stuck out the ring box and stuttered "Will you?") Natalie was so shocked it took her a while to recognize her family, who had popped out of the bushes, taking pictures and clapping around her. Car trouble, Covid, and a Christmas Eve snowstorm didn't stop Natalie from reverse-proposing a few months later. Wind and whiteout conditions foiled Natalie's plan to surprise Jenn at the top of their favorite ski mountain. Improvising, she presented Jenn with a ring in a gondola at Copper Mountain!
