What is Colorado weather like in late-May?

Who knows! Colorado weather changes rapidly, it could be snowing one day and 85 degrees the next. Lyons and Boulder are above 5,000 ft so be prepared for hot, sunny days and cool evenings.

Will I feel the effects of elevation?

Most likely. Start hydrating before flying to Colorado and continue to drink lots of water throughout your stay. Keep in mind that alcohol hits different at altitude...!

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Depends. If you are planning to spend your trip based in Boulder, it is possible to plan public transit from the airport. Once in Boulder, it's easy to get around by foot, bikeshare, rideshare, or the local bus system. The venue is about a 22 minute Lyft ride to Lyons. If you prefer to adventure into the spectacular Rockies, a car is necessary.
