Hotel
We are super excited about our wedding venue, Snowpine Lodge, which we picked because of its extremely warm, comfortable, and cozy vibes. It is a small lodge with central fireplaces and balconies on every floor, equipped with a beautiful pool, spa, and incredible views. Snowpine is in Little Cottonwood Canyon, which although quite near the Salt Lake Valley, is an escape in the mountains. It is relatively isolated, so if staying in the Canyon you should largely expect to be hanging out outside in the mountains, at the lodge, or at activities nearby at Snowbird (see "Things to Do"). Any wedding events not in the Canyon will include transportation. If you are considering staying at Snowpine for our wedding weekend, be sure to book your room soon so that you can make use of the discounted rate via the wedding block. If we fill our block, we may be able to add more rooms to the block pending availability. When booking a room, please use the following link to book within the block: http://bookings.ihotelier.com/bookings.jsp?groupID=3462946&hotelID=111839. Our hotel block is only listed with the discounted rate for Saturday 9/2 and Sunday 9/3, but you can reserve your room for Friday 9/1 or Monday 9/4 at the discounted rate by calling Snowpine (801-742-2000) and asking to speak to Julia. Rooms in the hotel block must be booked by August 4, 2023. If all of the discounted rate rooms have been booked and you would still like to stay at Snowpine at the discounted rate, please contact Brad and Jenny directly and we will see if we can add additional rooms to the discounted hotel block.
Travel Note
If you are not staying at Snowpine, we highly recommend finding accommodations in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Other hotels in the canyon include: Snowbird Ski Resort - there are a few lodging options (https://www.snowbird.com/lodging/) Goldminer's Daughter (at Alta ski resort, https://www.goldminersdaughterlodge.com/) There are a limited number of AirBnB's in the canyon that are worth researching. We highly recommend staying in Little Cottonwood Canyon, as Uber's and Lyft's are extremely limited (they will drive people up Little Cottonwood Canyon, but will not drive up the Canyon to pick up riders). There are shuttles between Snowbird and Alta ski resorts (or a short walk) making transit between the resorts and Snowpine Lodge easy. Parking is also available at Snowpine Lodge.
Travel Note
IMPORTANT: for those staying at Snowpine, while Ubers and Lyfts will be able to go up to Snowpine from Salt Lake City, the valley, or the airport, the hotel has informed us that you will not be able to call an Uber or Lyft from the hotel (the Uber or Lyft will just cancel on you once they see your location). There are, however, ample shuttle services that will be able to provide transportation from Snowpine (e.g. to the airport for your return flight) with which you can make a private or group reservation. So if you are not renting a car for the weekend, PLEASE coordinate a shuttle pickup from Snowpine to the airport. We have created a public tracker that will allow you to coordinate your return shuttles with others if you'd like. The tracker is listed here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pshjrONOu6n0y57T3af4EaGAUMB8yAmFQNAbLk-z5SM/edit#gid=0. Shuttle companies we recommend are Canyon Transportation; Alta Shuttle; or Alpine Transportation. These companies and their websites are also listed in the tracker. Don't hesitate to reach out to Brad, Jenny, or Snowpine if you have any questions.
Travel Note
If you prefer to stay in the valley (elevation 5,000 ft.), we recommend the hotels at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon. There are multiple near each other, including Courtyard Marriott Salt Lake City Cottonwood, Residence Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood, Hampton Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood, Hyatt Place Salt Lake City Cottonwood.
