Where should I stay? What should I do?

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

Whatever feels good to you and that you can dance in (should you so choose). While the cocktail hour and reception will be held indoors, the ceremony will be outside. Please be sure to bring a jacket for the December New England coast!

What is the wedding theme/colors?

Answer

The Shire with some peacock colors. For those unfamiliar, the Shire is the home to Hobbits from J. R. R. Tolkien's books the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Hobbits tend to wear bright and earthly tones including reds, yellows, greens, and more. If you are unsure, a quick re-watch of the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring will serve you well. If you don't have 4 hours to spare, a quick Google search will suffice. We also really love the tones of peacock colors, so we will be incorporating those as well.

Will there be parking?

Answer

The House of Seven Gables has a small parking lot available. However, if the parking lot fills up it is difficult to find available parking around the venue. As such, we strongly encourage folks to walk to the venue from their lodging. Salem is a very walkable town and most places are within a 10 minute walk from each other.

What is for dinner?

Answer

Two words: taco bar. This taco bar will additionally have options for all dietary restrictions/preferences (e.g., vegan, gluten free, shellfish allergy). If you have additional dietary restrictions/preferences that we should be aware of, please reach out.
