FAQs

The Wedding Website of Jenna Pedersen and Daniel Donahue
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black-tie optional. We ask that men wear a dark suit and tie or tuxedo (only if you have one!). We ask that women wear an evening gown or mid-length cocktail dress. Formal pantsuits or dressy separates also classify as black-tie optional. Please avoid any solid or printed attire in white or ivory. The wedding party will be in black, so feel free to have fun with color and prints! Jenna highly recommends Rent the Runway as an option for women who do not have formal wear from previous events.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

We love your kids, but unfortunately we cannot accommodate children at our wedding. We appreciate your understanding! Children are welcome at other wedding weekend events, but our wedding ceremony and reception will be an adults-only event.

Question

How should we address the couple?

Answer

Thank you for asking! No names are changing. We can be addressed as Jenna Pedersen and Dan Donahue. Bride and Groom or the Newlyweds are also great options!

Question

Is there parking at The Grand Hall?

Answer

There is metered parking near the venue, but unfortunately there are no free lots nearby. The closest metered lot is at 14th and Wyandotte Street, just west of the venue. PLEASE NOTE that you may need to use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking. Parking is strictly enforced. There is also hourly parking in the Loews Hotel parking lot. However, we highly recommend using Uber or Lyft, or walking if you are traveling and staying at or nearby our hotel.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We have a block of rooms at the Loews Kansas City Hotel, two blocks from the venue. We have stayed here before and loved our experience. Please have a look at the Travel page for more information on this hotel block. If you prefer to stay elsewhere, we recommend looking downtown, in the Crossroads District, or near the Country Club Plaza. We suggest that you make travel accommodations quickly since this is a holiday weekend.

Question

Is there transportation to and from hotels to the venue?

Answer

Due to the proximity of our hotel to The Grand Hall, we are NOT offering a shuttle service. We recommend Uber, Lyft, or the Streetcar for those staying further away. Driving guests will need to park in one of several metered lots nearby.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the ceremony. We will begin promptly at 5pm. Due to the layout of the venue and our ceremony structure, we unfortunately cannot admit any late arrivals after the ceremony has begun. If you miss the ceremony, we look forward to you joining us for cocktail hour at 5:30!

Question

What time will the reception end? Is there an afterparty?

Answer

Our reception ends promptly at 11pm. We have no formal afterparty planned, but will likely head to the Loews lobby bar (open until midnight) after the reception.

Question

Are we allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We have hired talented photographers to help us capture our day. Please do not use your phones during our ceremony. After the ceremony concludes, you are free to document the celebrations! We ask that you refrain from posting any photos of the bride and groom until we get a chance to post our own photos - thank you!

Question

What we will be eating and drinking?

Answer

You know we love great food and drinks! We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres and signature cocktails at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entree. Our open bar will offer beer, wine, and premium liquor as well as non-alcoholic options.
