Question

What identification do I need to travel to Mexico?

Answer

When entering back intothe United States, U.S. citizens are required to show a U.S. passport, U.S. passport card, Trusted Traveler Program card (NEXUS, SENTRI, Global Entry or FAST) or an Enhanced Driver's License.

Question

Crossing the Border

Answer

It's a 40 minute drive from the border to Rosarito. We recommend to take the toll roads and enjoy the beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. The cost for the toll roads is approximately $8 round trip. Park your vehicle at Villa del Paraiso during the event or take a shuttle from the hotel to the event. Please make sure to purchase Mexican insurance if you decide to drive your vehicle across the border. Returning to the US from the Mexican side by car or by walking can take much longer as you will be speaking with border patrol agents when you cross and showing your identification. We recommend planning your return trip for Monday as the crossing times are much shorter.

Question

Transportation to Mexico

Answer

For those of our guests who need help getting across the border and to the venue we will be offering a shuttle on Friday 10/21/22 to cross into Mexico. If you will require a shuttle to get into Mexico to your hotel please notify Jeneva or Corey ASAP as space is limited to the first 45 guests. The shuttle will cross at the border station in San Ysidro, the shuttle will be picking up at 2pm at the Border Station Parking 4570 Camino De La Plaza, San Diego, CA 92173 www.borderparking.com. This is a 24 attended lot with surveillance cameras, please check the website for parking costs.. The shuttle will be making drop offs at Rosarito Beach Hotel 3:30pm, Los Gaviotas 3:50pm, Vista Hermosa Resort 4:00pm, and the venue Villa del Paraiso 4:15pm. There will be a return shuttle service Sunday 10/23/21. Please note that the return shuttle will be reserved for those that took the shuttle into Mexico on Friday. The shuttle will have pick ups starting at the venue Villa del Paraiso 11:30am, Vista Hermosa Resort 11:50am, Las Gaviotas 12:10pm, Rosarito Beach Hotel 12:40 and crossing the border returning to the Border Station Parking at approximately 3:00pm. Border crossing at the San Ysidro Border Crossing can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours so please plan any flights out of San Diego accordingly.

Question

Answer

Only if you are planning on driving your personal vehicle to Mexico, we strongly recommend it. Welcome to Baja Bound Insurance Services! Baja Bound makes it easy to buy Mexican insurance from underwriters you can trust. They work with two Mexico insurance providers, HDI Seguros and ACE Seguros. Both are subsidiaries of international insurance companies, so your policy is backed by a company you can depend on. Question

This lane will significantly reduce your wait time to get back into the U.S. These are available for $25 to our overnight guests. Given that the FastPass system is managed by an off-site third-party, Rosarito Beach Hotel cannot guarantee FastPass availability at a given time.

Question

Additional Travel Information

Answer

We recommend a Friday or Saturday arrival and a Monday departure. The border will be less busy on a Monday but you can cross the border earlier if you don’t want to wait until Monday we recommend trying to cross by 10am to avoid the rush. If you have a Global Entry or a Sentri card please bring them. They will speed up the border crossing process. Those of you in the wedding party we will take care of your travel accommodations to and from the venue.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We recommend staying at Los Gaviotas, it is a very popular oceanfront gated community 10 minutes from the venue. There are 2-5 bedroom homes you can rent, a private beach, a pool & spa with delicious food vendors, and shuttle service to the venue the day of the wedding. If you are looking for a nice resort stay we with all the amenities we recommend Vista Hermosa Resort and Spa. It has a bar and restaurant onsite, a pool and spa, a great view, great room options, and a shuttle on the day of the wedding. Rosarito Beach Hotel is the nicest hotel in the area and very popular, you will need to work with the hotel for transportation to the venue for the wedding if you are planning on staying at the Rosarito Beach Hotel. There are also plenty of amazing private homes for rent on AirBnb or VRBO that are close to the venue, just make sure you have travel arrangements lined up to get to the venue.
