Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Keep in mind this is a themed event - Vintage Glam (think Great Gatsby/1920s). Not sure about the whole dress-up theme, dress in any shade of silver, gold, black, grey, rose gold, or champagne. Dress to excess with feathers and beads! Flappers and Dappers, Toffs, Spivs and Chaps in Tweed are all welcome. (Not sure about your attire, ask Jenene.)

Where do I park?

Answer

A variety of public and private downtown parking options are available within walking distance. All parking arrangements are at guest's discretion. Can we bring our children?

Answer

Children will be given double espressos, a pound of chocolate, a paintball gun and a puppy if in attendance... buuut in our family, that may not be that out of the ordinary... So to say it more bluntly, we cannot honor children or additional guest requests in attendance to the wedding. While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors. Then guests will be escorted outside to the courtyard for cocktail hour, weather pending. The rest of the celebration will be back inside!

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Unfortunately, this time of year is VERY unpredictable in Florida. This time of year in the past few years, we've had a cold front... a FLORIDA cold front. So for all of the Burke family, you'll be loving it! For all of the Dulaney family - bring a sweater! BUT... it's also Florida. Hot, rainy and humid weather can happen within a flip of the switch. So be sure to look at the weather and plan accordingly. ESPECIALLY if you are parking in the parking garage and having to walk a block to the venue!

Is the Reception in the same location as the Ceremony?

Answer

Yes. Both ceremony and reception (as well as cocktail hour) are all located at Orchid Garden at Church Street. See Home or Schedule pages for more info.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Limiting the guest count was very difficult, as we all know the Dulaney family can fill up a football stadium. We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive early to give you PLENTY of time to park and walk to the venue, as it is in the downtown area. The ceremony will start at 4:30pm and will be a quick one! So you don't want to miss out! (Jenene promises she won’t be late.)

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Yes, we have a hotel block at the Crowne Plaza Downtown Orlando. Please see "Travel" page for more details on how to reserve your room. Please note: Deadline to take advantage of the special room rate of $139/night is September 3.

Please RSVP by September 6 for planning purposes.

Will there be vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special dietary options for food?

We're still tweaking the menu and plan to post as soon as it is confirmed... please check back in soon!

Answer

Will transportation be provided to and from the hotel?

Answer

If you book with our room block, a shuttle will be provided. Other hotels may provide a shuttle, as well. Please see Travel page of this website for more info and details on shuttle services.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels... our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #AboutBurkenTime so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
