I know that getting married on September 11th may give some of you pause, however, we believe that the events on this date 20 years ago (I know, it's been 20 years...) did not divide us as a nation, it united us. Therefore not only have we decided to venerate this date by living freely and unafraid, but we've also chosen to celebrate it with a new alliance, our own. As a retired US Navy Veteran, nobody understands self-sacrifice more than the soon-to-be luckiest guy in the world. If Deron can choose to take a date marked with such innumerable sacrifices and instead focus on the extraordinary acts of bravery and compassion, then I hope all of you can too. We can’t wait to look back on this date as one of revelry. -J
We met in 2011 when we were both working as probation officers on the same nightshift. We clicked immediately and got to know each other during 12 hour shifts of babysitting adults, brainstorming complex Excel formulas and making late night coffee runs. Eventually Deron transferred to day shift and after a very short period of time, we realized we missed each other. Even though we no longer shared the same work hours, what we did share was the same work ethic, love of animals and twisted sense of humor. After receiving the Court's blessing, our whirlwind romance began. Eight years later we share 5 mischievous cats, a 1973 convertible VW Beetle named Tang and a great little house that's just like us, a work in progress. As we kick off this next adventure we're looking forward to a casual, fun-filled celebration with all of our favorite people. -J
