The Wedding Website of Jennifer Jones and Bryan Shue
Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

Guests will RSVP for our wedding events on this site rather than sending back RSVP cards. Simply navigate to the RSVP section and enter your name. This will allow you to respond for each person affiliated with your invitation. Each event on our site will require a response for each of the invited guests, including kids! You can RSVP to attend the events that align with the time you can spend with us as we celebrate and really hope to see you all as much as possible! Given ongoing COVID-19 concerns, if you need to update your RSVP status after the deadline, please do so and also send us a note at jones.shue.wedding@gmail.com so we can make sure to have the most up to date info on our guests.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! While gifts are not necessary, should you desire to review our registry you can find on this site or via this address: zola.com/wedding/jenandbryanwedding/registry

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony is set to start at 6:30 pm on Herty Field on the north campus of the University of Georgia. The event is outdoors, rain or shine. Guests should plan to arrive no later than 6:20 pm to ensure you are in place prior to the event start time.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to the intimate nature of our event, as well as sensitivity to protect our closest loved ones and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are requesting that only invited guests are present at our ceremony & celebratory dinner. Our goal for this event is to keep it small and special which means we can't accept unplanned +1s and dates.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Invited guests include kids, so if they are on the invite, their presence is welcomed. Due to the intimate nature of our wedding and the dinner venue, we do have to keep the guest list to a specific count, so, all invited guests will be listed on this site and your invite. If you are unsure if your child is included please reach out.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is dressy casual. You will be standing for our ceremony on a grassy field, so wear comfortable shoes. Dresses/skirts, jumpsuits or party attire for women and dark jeans, khakis or slacks with polos for men are all acceptable attire. The celebratory dinner is in a nice restaurant in downtown Athens, so you will want to consider that as you select your wardrobe. It's most important to us that you are comfortable. No tuxes, suits or formal/semi-formal attire is necessary.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! While Athens does not have an abundance of hotel rooms (so book early), there are many that are close the wedding sites. Please check out our travel & accommodations page for suggestions. Bryan & I will be staying at the Hotel Indigo Athens.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

The restaurant will be offering a selection of entrees for dinner. If you have dietary restrictions please let us know what those are in advance and we'll inquire how they might be addressed. Guests will be selecting their first course and entree at the restaurant on the night of the event. No need to plan in advance.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking is available in several locations in downtown Athens, but is extremely limited on campus near Herty Field. It is recommended that you use the ParkMobile app or visit downtownathensga.org/downtown-athens-parking/ to view paid parking that is close the wedding event sites. Metered parking is monitored and enforced Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Rates are $1.50 per hour, meters are monitored from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Metered spaces allow a maximum of two hours between 8:00 a.m. – 6:oo p.m. If you require handicap parking access, please reach out to Bryan or me so we can work to assist you in locating the best option for you.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Our events are all occurring in a very walkable environment. No cars will be necessary to move between events once you have arrived in Athens for the day/weekend.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Please check out the events & activities page for information about wedding related events.
