There is so much to do at the resort! You can purchase a day ticket and ride the scenic lifts, mountain bike, zip line, hike + more! There are also some good restaurants and bars at the base of the resort. Some of our favorites include grabbing an apres cocktail at the Umbrella bar and nachos from Westward Social after a long day of mountain biking.

Head to Len Hill Park on Thursday, July 24th for a free concert in the park! It starts at 6:30pm. Cracker will be playing.
We recommend riding the mountain to meadow trail or the mud creek trail, both of which can be accessed without a lift & are dog friendly. If you would like to purchase a lift ticket and bike at Big Sky resort our favorite trails there are Happy Hooves & Snake Charmer!
The best fly fishing guides on the Gallatin River!

The West entrance to Yellowstone National Park is only a 45 min drive from Big sky. Take a day or two and explore Yellowstone park, you can easily drive through the park and stop along the way at all the attractions, or take a hike to a waterfall. Some of our favorite areas in the park include Lamar Valley (Highly likely you will see the most wildlife here) Mammoth Hot Springs, The Boiling River, Old Faithful, Tower Falls and Canyon Village!
This cute quaint western town is right outside the entrance of Yellowstone National Park & a 45 min drive from Big Sky. We recommend eating at Madison Square Crossing (get the bison nachos!), grab some wings from the Buffalo Bar, grab a beer at the Yellowstone Beer Company and a huckleberry shake from the City Creamery! Also a highlight of this town is catching a musical at the Playmill.
This is right outside of West Yellowstone (and is where Jeffs family cabin is located). Spend a day at the beach and take a swim in the lake that is surrounded by beautiful mountains and views. There are multiple public beach access points around the lake!
A longer alpine trail with unforgettable views. Experience this 6.8-mile out-and-back trail near Big Sky, Montana. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 38 min to complete. This is a very popular area for backpacking, camping, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are May through October. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.
